Game constantly freezing / hard locking my PC

I've already turned my graphics settings down to below medium, but the game just continues to hard lock my PC, where I can't even use the task manager anymore, literally have to hold the power button down to force shut my PC off.

Honestly no clue why this keeps happening. My hardware is not even being fully utilized, so I'm not running too hot or out of RAM or VRAM or anything.

this is how my cpu utilization looks like when the freezing happens.
i unallocated cpu cores 1 and 2 beforehand to be able to close the game via task manager and avoid an entire pc freeze.
with all cores allocated my pc would have completely locked me out of doing anything.

MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
Ryzen 7 9700X
RTX 4070 Super
32GB DDR5 Ram (6000Mhz CL30)
Windows 11 Pro 24H2

/e: once this happens, i can't even read any data (for example temperatures) from the affected cpu-cores with HWiNFO.

It's windows update 24H2. Roll that back and it stops.

Apparently that is it, and its an Issue since the release of the 24H2, somehow the AutoHDR Feature causes to crash all kinds of games. WIndows alrdy acknowledged this to be the case (why there is no fix yet, I dunno).

I don't have an HDR monitor and hence the Auto HDR option doesn't appear. Yet I am still getting the freezes/crashes.

same here, one day it was fine and with the latest Nvidia driver / Win 24h2 it became unstable.... I do not have the most advanced hardware either....

My specs: RTX 3080 + i9 12th gen + 32gb of ram. Running on High Graphic settings in 1440p with DLSS2 on balanced.

I set Compatibility Mode to Win 7 in JA3.exe and it somehow works for me for now... I wonder for how long.

Did it help after all? Had no time to play this week again yet, but curious if solution has been found while awaiting some fix from MS.

Great game max 1h of playing and the computer gets so stuck that I have to forcefully turn it off. It's funny that the problem has been there since day 1 and it hasn't been fixed

Not day 1. It started only lately and apparently tied to Win update. I had this game for a while and never had the issue before last month or so when got back in.

Same here. After a certain time, the game causes my pc to hang. I can only move the mouse (but it feels like 10fps), keyboard strokes no longer work, clicking on other programs on the second screen no longer works.

RTX 3080
i7-10700k
32GB Ram
Newest Windows and Nvida Versions....
