Instruction Manual?

Sooo frustrating these days: games rolled out with minimal explanation how to play them. Publishers have no compunction about leaving customers to peruse hours of youtube videos, even to get started...or frustrating trial-and-error. (Also makes meaningless Steam's 2 hr limit on use to return for refund, as users burn thru that easily before they can even get an idea whether the game is for them.) Yes, the "tutorial" bubbles in early stages are there, but of minimal use.
Does anyone know of an organized explanation of how to actually play the game? Thanks in advance...

It's not always the case but here it is sad that there is no in game tutorial and no user manual. At least I did not find any in \Steam\steamapps\common\Jagged Alliance 3\

I would have liked to see a better tutorial system too, it's quite lacking now, but so far the game is not that complicated to figure out. Learn by simply playing and I'm sure tutorials on Youtube will quickly show up.

Besides a manual, a key command list or layout in jpg or pdf would be helpful.

The tutorials are terrible and spread out across way too many maps. The first map should introduced you to pretty much every combat topic. A lot of the crafting/operation stuff you never get a tutorial for...you just get a pop up the first time you stumble into it. Guns for example, you can mod the ♥♥♥♥ out of them very early but the game does not tell you this unless you right click a gun from inventory and select modify.

Agree. It is a shame that the devs seem to consider that everyone has played JAG 1 or 2 before... :-(

It's a shame because the JA1 had one of my favoriate things in an instruction manual: It had an index to let you find the right page for a given topic and in the middle of the index was buried five lines pointing to the same page (The blank one after the contents) that read "This editor believes nobody uses indexes, send me a letter at this address and I'll send the first 10 people who do £50"

I miss being able to look at a well-made manual in peace and quiet and then start a game with all that knowledge. One of the best manuals in my opinion was the manual for Their Finest Hour/Lucasfilm Games.

What do you want? A full game guide? Is the help centre (F1) on the command menu not enough?
Anytime I have doubts about keybinds I just go check the place where you go to edit your keybinds and see what is what.

I don't know what they have is exactly comprehensive but there is a fair bit of info there if you care to look.

If you want an actual guide then there might be something in the guides section or on Youtube but I didn't find it that hard to pick up. Takedowns had me flummoxed for a while but I mastered that eventually.

Give it time and a wiki might kick off if it hasn't already. I think since so many wikis do start up many devs would think it's a waste of resources to make an in depth guide when it is probably going to be done for free anyway.

No, the F1 help center is not enough. It is. in fact. complete garbage that explains next to nothing about the mechanics governing life and death.

Sadly it's another "git good" game, relying on community to do the heavy lifting in tutorial department. Google for guides or apply good ol' trial and error method. Experience from XCOM-likes helped me greatly but I imagine completely new to genre player would be easily overwhelmed.
