thor is now ruined for me
Not gonna lie I found it weird to turn Thor into a hippie guru... He wasn't like that in ja 2. Sure he was young and quirky but that was it
anyway ~70% on my 2nd run done and raven threw around a bunch of extremly ... entertaining... lines with wlad the tinkerer.
guess i have to make hardsaves before talking to any npc, move out every merc but one to get all those spicy lines.
I'd like Vicki too
the dual wield is questionable as on all mercs but lore is lore.
i think the autorepair only works for gear she wears (not inventory) so that´s a bit more micro management to optimize (reduce repairtime significantly).
also she doesnt have the "games for modern audiences´s strong independed black waman of colour" accent (mostly fake jamaican but really bad).
rather she reminds me of a wow classic troll (which is jamaican again, but done really well). very enjoyable voice actor. i´m already thinking about dropping steroid from the first hire crew completely and get vicky as mechanic for squad#2, rather than squad#3.
the only downside is that she doesnt really show up on the likes&dislikes (which is a positive and a negative even talking purely about dislikes)
really enjoyable merc
did run#1 with immediatly hiring raven (7 days only tho bc money), which was very much overkill (together with a MM imp that is).
however she´s the perfect fit for squad #2 some days after getting raider (who drops into A2, while squad #1 goes to get flay, larry & fleatown).
not sure if putting my JA3 waifu into squad#2 is a mortal sin... probably
Well, she is, but the main front she is good at is to drain all your money to oblivion when she levels up a bit. She is cool and all but way too costly, even with perk OP as hell she is way too expensive when she levels up... 60K for 2 weeks? Come on, GTFO *****.
Wonder what she does in her Jamaican place, pays bills for whole village? Or maybe smoking weed 24/7/365. Her salary is just nuts, that is why i always ended firing her, any rokie merc can be better than her if trained and will cost much much less.
As for her "dialogues", they are too generic and empty, nothing interesting at all, beside her funny accent and looks. This is kinda a problem in this game, women mercs are relatevely few and uninspired: Livewire, Fox and Mouse are ok, but for the rest of them? Garbage with zero interesting to say.
i´d make a "joke" about a female (merc) becoming more and more expensive, but i dont want to be banned (from this forum at least).
on my current run, getting A2 after ernie island (not going for commie-town thus low rep (not sure if linked tbh)), immediatly starting to build squad #2 with raven, raider, etc and finishing squad 2 (&put it on the road) right after getting the fleatown mine.
sent squad 1 north, squad 2 to port cacao. as soon as port cacao mine was captured, squad 3 was set up.
during early squad 2 set up money was a almost gone (tho all contracts were long enough). while setting up squad 3 money was already less of a "problem".
so vicky going for 60k... tbh even if that would be the weekly rate, i wouldnt care with my current route and if money would seem to get close, i´d simply get other mines before doing west-mid-part exploring & quests.
mines need another tweak, because buying every possible vendor item just to scrap it as often as possible... yeah. economy isnt on point.
Well, you can do intersting observation by yourself. Check out the MI mine incomes towards daily cost of leveled Vicky, you will quickly realise that this "female (merc)" requires several mines to fund her. What makes even less sense - is her dialogue, where she often mentiones stuff like fixing rusted junk and car parts. Why in the world she needs so much money that several diamond mines (at 100% loyalty) need to work in sole purpose of paying her salary. Eating up funds for breakfast is certainly her best talent i must say, even mercs like Ivan (the destroyer of the worlds) pale in comparison.
however this also means that getting 3 squads up and going as fast as possible reduces the possible XP / merc. this not only makes the game more interesting (planing- /time-optimization-wise) but reduces the chance of mercs actually getting too expensive (maybe the case if going for full legendary mercs).
obviously double T3-talent stacking is ... strong... aF... but really not needed, but doable if one wants that one really f*cking dangerous squad.
ha, ivan skipping languages class again. 28 years and maybe a dozend english words. now that´s some serious asylum seeking mat... never mind.
ivans pretty cool tho
ugh...xcom. it was okay until explosives destroyed all tactics.
Thor only have 76 starting medic, soo don't take his advice too seriously. His treatment is better than placebo at best, but I love that guy until his salary went through the roof.
I see you keep mostly recruits --- same as me! Apparently we are advised to try those better mecs but I just have no idea why are they so good looking at their everywhere perks, arguably better stats and that double salary...
I do feel that you've missed out a lot of things though, much similar to my first play-through which ended one day ago. Have you been to the night club and discovered more adolnis corp's conspiracy? who did you pick as the culprit in the twin mansion?I'm in my second play through and it went much more side quest focused.
