A LOOT DROP mod or setup that actually makes sense (common or logical?) that you recommend?
No mater how hard I try to get into this game, I can't get past the killing of 4 enemies that are all using pistols, sub-machine guns and even a rifle against me but when I goto loot them they only drop a piece of scrap or a few bullets.

I get the whole management pace and game design to a degree..... but the logical, common sense, and just plain rational part of me just can't get past it. It makes me want to quit every time past the first couple battles.

I mean JA2 had the mods where the enemies dropped everything they were carrying and it didn't break the game. They just had the equipment be super jacked and low quality and limited the "Fixing" of it so it made sense and it didn't overpower you. Why couldn't this game do similar?! Argh....

Which leads me to mods. I've been trying for days... and spent a ton of hours trying to get them working but none so far seem to be working good. I set it up to DROP ALL and each enemy drops like 10-20 different grenades, TONS of ammunition along with their gun and armor. I wish it dropped the gun and ammo (severely jacked) but what's with the tons of grenades and 500 rounds of ammo? After the first fight of enemies on the first starter zone you begin in I've got 50+ grenades and 1000+ rounds of ammo and ready to storm anything with using grenades alone.

I've tried changing the drop rate to "double" the normal, Triple, Half, you name it, and none seem to work right. So, I'm at wits end and turn to you all...

Has anyone downloaded some mods and actually got them setup where the LOOT DROP makes sense and doesn't severely hamper or jack the game and balance up and overload you with hundreds of grenades and thousands of rounds of ammo? There HAS to be a happy medium with this game... Honestly, I'm shocked the game has been out for the time it has with the mods it has and this isn't one of the most sought after mods or added design points that people want.

Do most people really think its fun to take out 20 well-armed and defended enemies that are obviously shooting you with everything from rifles to machine guns and after barely defeating them all, all you get is some scrap, some medicine, and maybe a damaged vest? I mean, I get suspicion of disbelief, but that's just straight up stupid.

So, can anyone help? Has anyone figured out the best mod or setup and what's worked for you? I'd love to play this game from beginning to end, but I can't play with the default drop rates... I honestly think its the worst part about the whole game design.

Thanks.

This is only partial answer and not necessarily the one you want.

I see no reason for loot drop mod. If you don't rush through sectors, hack all you can hack and scout while your other mercs repair, craft and train militia you will get a lot of sector intel. That means a lot of secret stashes that drop loot. Also other sectors are full of loot chests.

1. On Ernie you will find 2 rifles, 2 AKs, 1 double barrel. You can repair them in a few hours. Militia training takes around 15-24hours so you can easily repair all of them in that time span.
1a. 2nd sector you enter in Ernie will give you Gewehr and Ak47 that can be easily repaired.
1b. If you are not evil after you finish Ernie questline one NPC will give you FAMAS.

2. You can buy Glock, MP5k, and Auto-5 shotgun in fleatown market.
3. You can buy RPK and FN-FAL in Port Cacao
4. You can buy Dragunov in Poacher Camp at north west
5. You can buy M14 in A3 port

6. After you take ernie village, after 24 hours, Bobby Ray will open his web store. He restocks every 5 days. When you take over 2nd mine he expands his inventory. (You can also quick save the game 2 hours before he restocks and then proceed to save scum or load scum until you find what you want to buy.)
