How do you trigger remote explosives?

I combined the explosives with a remote detonator but I don't see a way to explode after laying it down. There are single remotes in the game as well but I can't combine one with a remote explosive.

You have the remote in your inventory, and then the merc with the remote in inventory has an action to trigger remote explosives.

Hmm, I can't find a seperate remote in my inventory after combining the explosive with the romote detonator.

Yeah, you will need the Remote Detonation Trigger Device.

It's one of those single detonators you can't combine...

The Remote is sometimes found with explosives components but sometimes you may need to find/acquire/buy it separately.

It is a permanent item that can be used an unlimited number of times (unlike the remote explosives which are single use).

It has a limited range. It will trigger ALL remote explosives in the radius (but not timed or proximity explosives). You can move the radius around a bit to try and avoid triggering too many remote explosives, but if you place 2 remove explosives right next to each other, you may end up needing to trigger both at the same time.
