I watched some videos and something i didnt like was the overwatch system.
The cones are too thin , and have to be set each turn for each character manually, that can mean 40 times in 1 fight, the original game made it better, just turn around the on the general direction and no silly cones, is there a solution????
so you have to do that if you dont use LMG...... i am surprised people dont worry to do the same stuff over and over.....
After having completed JA3 a couple of times, there is a community of us crying out for new, full campaign mods. I'm not a modder so unfortunately have to rely on those more tehcnically skilled.
I find myslef scanning the workshop weekly for a new campaigns, new maps, new mission overhauls, or the dream...JA2 in JA3!
Would love to know your thoughts?

I already have most of the JA1 and JA2 mercs done, well, I mean, they're still WIP and still subject to polishing. They're not high quality, but they're passable, especially since I tried to keep them as close as possible to the source art. I'm also willing to remaster the audio files. We already have tools for that.
Hopefully, permanent (GC-Militia modder), rato, SkunkXL, whahappen, LionCat, Lucja, key and the other fantastic modders that we have (too many to name you all, but you know who you are) would also sign up for it. JA2 won’t port itself.
I probably still have Discord installed on my computer. I will check tomorrow. I’m on my phone right now.
This is music to my ears on the content you are working on! Re your question on what does JA2 to JA3 mean - Im sure Morianthi and other JA2 fans would say the same, but I would love to essentially port over JA2 into JA3 - maps, npc, story, dialogue, helicopter mechanics etc. - but with the modern JA3 combat mechanics - in short, to essentially recreate JA2 as much as possible in JA3.
If that is too much of a heavy lift, I would say maps at a min and bring Arulco to JA3. I would also volunteer my help, for what that is worth as a non-modder.
This is easier than bring the JA2 mechanics. The tools to do it are at our disposal. But I assure you that even putting all your effort and good will in such a task, there will still be people out there unhappy with an adaptation like this. I would be glad to help in bringing Arulco to JA3 engine tho.
True JA2 fans would not complain about a port over to JA3, even if it wasnt perfect. I replayed JA2 last year and it surprised me how dated the grapics were (I feel bad for saying anything negative for a game I love). Some of the beauty of JA2, at least in my opinion, is the characters/NPC's, storyline, game / mission mechanics and of course the setting/map - Arulco. Bringing JA2 into the excellent JA3 engine and graphics would be incredible and fans would love it.
If you could bring Arulco to JA3, even the maps, you and whoever helps would become part of the JA legacy.
