I don't think there will be any more DLC either. The tools have been delivered so that modders will bring new maps and new campaigns.

It was similar with Ja 2 too.

Although, I think it's a shame that Haemimont Games doesn't take the risk and release a DLC. A lot of people would definitely buy it.

I read that to say the roadmap that was announced is completed. We have to wait for the next roadmap to be announced, whenever that would be. If that was a 'wrap' and truly finished and over, ....they would have said so.

THQ dictates what HG can work on, they're just a creative studio, that can come up with an idea and further develop it, if THQ likes it. I wouldn't be surprised if the publisher prompted HG on the roadmap then ordered to move to different projects, due to "failing to meet sales expectance".

THQ Nordic had some projects that were cancelled by Embracer. Around that time, I recall the game devs were discussing the next roadmap including patch 1.6 and the patch that was not named after a merc, which was codeword for DLC. I guess it could have been worse for JA3, anyone here fans of Deus-Ex?

"...In total, 15 mostly unannounced projects were “written down” across Amplifier, Freemode, Gearbox, Plaion, Saber, and THQ Nordic, Embracer said...."

I mean just because this project is "finished" doesn't mean there will ever be "new" projects or those projects the developers have moved onto isn't tied to JA3 in some form . This is just a buisness strategy this company is using to avoid promising to much . Atleast this is what I think ... As someone already mentioned JA3 is this companys best and most succesful product yet , it would be very odd if they just dropped that

no, it means they delivered full game as promised, instead of giving you half a game and then dripfeeding you content that makes the other half for more money. you know... like people used to make games in the good ol days.

or are you one of those folks taht want to pay money for a new hat ingame so you can play barbie instead of the actual game?

It's sad to hear development end for this gem of a game. There needs to be a dedicated post-launch team, if the main team has 'moved on to different projects'.
All the moderator did was not commit to anything, which is the standard response you get from any developer regardless of if there are any plans or not, because as I already pointed out they don't commit to delivering anything until they're sure it will have the features they show.

I realise it may not be the best selling game for THQ, but I would have thought they too would realise there is some profit to be made in some JA3 DLC, why would any publisher/developer pass up the chance to make more money????

HG "We've just released our best selling game ever" THQ "drop it and move on, we don't need to make any more money from JA, next game".

Sad they left the game with such horrible balance caused by the early patches. Oh well, maybe someone who isn't in their Discord echo chamber will make a good balance patch someday.

If they made the DLC "Return to Arulco" with the map and features from the 2nd part and the features of the 3rd part, it would be top. I think this DLC would be bought not only by those who bought the game, but by many old ones.

The amount of work it would take to convert the maps to full 3D would almost necessitate it be a full fledged sequel.

I doubt HG would do that, it would be a lot of work and not really worth their time. I can see something like this being a mod at some point, but we're talking very long term for a group of modders to convert all that content to work in JA3.

I suspect given enough time we could see mods that recreate JA and JA2, but don't expect those things to show up any time soon.

The sort of DLC HG is likely to do is things like adding extra mercs, it's been obvious since release that a lot of fans want more mercs, so there is money to be made from a Mercs-focused DLC. At some point, we might also get weapons/gear DLC, MAYBE a few additional stories/quests (but they've made it quite clear adding this sort of content is hard because of how it can affect existing stories). We'll have to wait and see.

The one thing I absolutely want is 4 player Coop, because I have a bunch of buddies I like playing with.

So they left money on the table on purpose.... DLC is super profitable, so you are saying they decided not to get easy money.... cos they are anti-money

Even Jagged 2 had an "expansion", "unfinished business".
