It was similar with Ja 2 too.
Although, I think it's a shame that Haemimont Games doesn't take the risk and release a DLC. A lot of people would definitely buy it.
I read that to say the roadmap that was announced is completed. We have to wait for the next roadmap to be announced, whenever that would be. If that was a 'wrap' and truly finished and over, ....they would have said so.
get rekt.
THQ dictates what HG can work on, they're just a creative studio, that can come up with an idea and further develop it, if THQ likes it. I wouldn't be surprised if the publisher prompted HG on the roadmap then ordered to move to different projects, due to "failing to meet sales expectance".
"...In total, 15 mostly unannounced projects were “written down” across Amplifier, Freemode, Gearbox, Plaion, Saber, and THQ Nordic, Embracer said...."

no, it means they delivered full game as promised, instead of giving you half a game and then dripfeeding you content that makes the other half for more money. you know... like people used to make games in the good ol days.
or are you one of those folks taht want to pay money for a new hat ingame so you can play barbie instead of the actual game?
I realise it may not be the best selling game for THQ, but I would have thought they too would realise there is some profit to be made in some JA3 DLC, why would any publisher/developer pass up the chance to make more money????
HG "We've just released our best selling game ever" THQ "drop it and move on, we don't need to make any more money from JA, next game".
The amount of work it would take to convert the maps to full 3D would almost necessitate it be a full fledged sequel.
I suspect given enough time we could see mods that recreate JA and JA2, but don't expect those things to show up any time soon.
The sort of DLC HG is likely to do is things like adding extra mercs, it's been obvious since release that a lot of fans want more mercs, so there is money to be made from a Mercs-focused DLC. At some point, we might also get weapons/gear DLC, MAYBE a few additional stories/quests (but they've made it quite clear adding this sort of content is hard because of how it can affect existing stories). We'll have to wait and see.
So they left money on the table on purpose.... DLC is super profitable, so you are saying they decided not to get easy money.... cos they are anti-money
Even Jagged 2 had an "expansion", "unfinished business".
