Creating own mercs for A.I.M?

Why it is still not easy and self explaining? I searched the web for tutorials that shows how i can create my own merc for A.I.M. but did not found any that explains it.
I have also pics for these mercs. But when i enter editor i absolutely dont know what to do.

This is not what i was looking for. Btw it is ridicolous how complicated it is just to change a simple picture! Especially if you draw in consideration how ugly the choice actually is for IMP mercs. And no the workshop does not offer real alternatives. Most of the pics show men and typically fot this genre. That is anything but a choice and that is why i wish to change pics or add new ones.

THX! I bookmark these three documents and will try it. If i succeed i will upload my new mercs.
Making your own voices sounds interesting. Do i need someones voice or will ai be helpful here and if yes where can i get good ai sound for free?

Well best case is having someone who has experience with voice acting and can record lines, as even the best AIs seem to lack voice inflection and acting to a degree. Can't tell you of a any good free ones,
Afaik some people used elevenlabs, but i think they also had some paid subscription as most of the services are limited in how much you can generate.

I expected this. When it comes to ai picture and free pics there are also some limitations. Elevenlabs seems to have a free offer but i need to find out if i am allowed to use this service for my mercs for workshop here at steam. Ofc i offer them for free but i dont know if i am allowed to use these sounds.

Btw the first link "How do I make a custom AIM merc in Jagged Alliance 3?" refers to official editor? I ask because i am looking for a guide for official editor.

Afaik it should all be for the official editor. As it was written i think at around 1.3. there might be stuff refering to also using the Mod "Modding Suite", which unlocked more dev tools, but i don't think using that mod should be necessary now.

I am now trying to build a new merc according to your first link. But i dont find the option "create a new unit" within the editor.
Ingame i started Mod Manager and went to Editor directly from there. Guess there should be an option within mod manager to create a new unit. But so far i only be able to create a "new mod".
Is mod and unit the same?
And if mod is the same as unit what can type for "Enter Mod Title"? The name of my new merc?

UPDATE:
I made some progress but i also still have problems. I gave my new merc just for a test the outfit of CorazonSantiago but ingame my merc had a completely different outfit although in the editor it showed up with Corazons outfit.
