Is there a way to increase Wisdom ?

I have my IMP picking all the bushes for meds and investigate item actions.. But that doesnt seem to work. Can't train for it.. I guess it makes sense that you can't increase someones intelligence, but you could increase Wisdom/Knowledge in real life

Kind of. It's always been the hardest stat to raise in the series. In this game it raises when you find stuff (which itself requires Wisdom), but you can also raise it with magazines.

I'd generally consider Wisdom to be stuck wherever it is. Even getting enough magazines to raise your IMP from 85 to 90 Wisdom is arguably not worth the effort.

my IMP is at 87.. Was hoping to get it to 90.. But no one is near Fleatown to buy mags, and then it's stat raise is RNG

When a character finds medicinal herbs on a map it can increase the wisdom of the character who "discovers" it. The problem is there is no guarantee that your IMP merc will be the one who finds it. However, if you are on a map without enemies you can leave your party hanging back and explore the sector with your IMP merc. It's kind of a slow process because you won't gain a wisdom point every time you find something, but in time you will increase their wisdom. Whether or not that is worth the effort I couldn't say.

As above, just discovery and mags.
If you have a smaller team, you're more likely to gain wisdom faster.
Last playthrough was mostly my IMP and Larry. Larry gained a surprising lot of wisdom through that playthrough.

enter sector. Go into tactical view. Quick Save. Move your IMP toward 1st plant in sector. He will gain Wisdom or not. Reload quick save. move imp toward 1st plant. repeat, repeat...

It is save scummy and the problem is that if you don't have MOD you don't know if you have skill points to be used. Also even if you have 5 skills points if you gain Wisdom upgrade you won't be able to increase it again for around 48hours because there is a cooldown.

So you can't give your mercs +5 marksmanship quickly through field training. Only way for quick training is either skill magazines/books or some other merc to train them.

I just got my IMP past 90 due to magazines in Fleatown by doing things in the area defending places days go by so you can drop into the town I used Fox to buy the mag and 3 times in a row she bought wisdom so that's 3 points and I found a couple in loot places too so that is why my IMP has over 90 now. Yeah it took a long time to go from 85 up.

There are four things which can improve Wisdom: dicovering bushes, salvageable parts, traps and mines. However, remember that field experience is limited to 5 points per level, so if a merc already gained a total of 5 stats after having levelled up, they won't gain anything until they reach the next level.

There is also the "grilled bear" magazine which is rare but can be used to increase wisdom on any character no matter what, even old dogs and field experience maxed mercs.

I'd advise keeping them for mercs who want to get wisdom up a tier for perks personally.

Ok thanks.. One more question:

Upon discovering a bush or whatever, is the chance (RNG) the same whether or not the character has gained 1 wisdom say a a few days ago or a month ago ? How about in relation to the quantity of bushes discovered ?

If he finds one bush, is that chance the same as it is on the 100th bush discovery or does the chance % increase the more bushes he discovers but has not yet gained 1 point.

I believe it is a combination of RNG and number of points of field experience left to get that level with the RNG getting worse the more points you have already got from this level up, though that is more my expereince with gaining points in other stats.

To be safe it's likely to be better to just run around an area with the wis grinder after the level is clear and get them to do the discovering.
