Underground fight F11
Any tips how to handle this fight?
There is barely any cover at the entrance and the enemy lasers me with salvos which is why I am taking huge amounts of damage. Tried several approaches, to no avail.

Which door entrance? Set overwatch first before flipping the switch to open the door.

The other door entrance? Dakka, dakka, dakka.

I mean the initial entrance into the bunker. Guess I just have to eat some bullets...

Oooops, sorry i spoiled it for you now. Same strategy, set overwatch before opening doors.

yeah, I am still eating salvos because the enemies are lazering me, and oyu know, despite having everyone above 80 marksmanship, my mercs like to miss shots. I thought there was some kind of underground strategy I am not aware of.

Yeah nah, just sneaky sniper first, before going loud. From memory, i think you sneaky sniper headshot the guys on the far side first.

enemy can't even see you at the entrance, what are you talking about? you have all the time in the world to properly set up. simply baiting them into coming at you is the easiest way to deal with them

Echo.Ren correct as they don't aggro until you attack. Usually two options, agressive or bait by shooting first but ensure shooter has AP to move back from being seen while have rest of team overwatch as there is only one door and same reason your team bad line of sight will be same for them. Main danger are the 3 meelee enemies so try not to be too close so they hopefully dont have enough AP to reach and should you see one go in to shoot their legs in case you can't finish them off reliably.
For the switch and doors later, that is one map where proximity explosive were useful (they are crap in TB combat otherwise :) )

Controlling when enemies can join the fight helps. Molotovs and mustard gas or tear gas can stop the enemies coming from the doors on the sides. Fire and gas also have a chance to cause panic, which makes enemies waste their turn running. Even regular smoke can help you take less damage when you're attacked from across the gap, by turning hits into grazes.

If you have a machine gun, overwatch one of the doors after you neutralize the first 3 enemies. I think there are more/worse guys coming from the door to the left of the entrance. If you don't have a machine gun you may need 2 or 3 overwatch hits to take down the enemies coming from the sides.

For me this has never been a map where just shooting guys one by one works out well.
