How to shoot spotlights?
Already finished the game, I was told I could shoot at spotlights by someone, is this actually a thing?

you can shoot them, but it takes a lot of luck since you can't target them. I hope this gets changed at some point so they can be targeted like barrels, mines, etc.

You basically just need to free aim it and hope they hit, but you can end up wasting a lot of ammo trying to do it.

You can’t aim at the spotlights like you can to live targets, only free aim… but even that is not guaranteed to destroy them, there is a fair to good chance you free aim and shoot the lights but they don’t break.., only way to make sure to put them out is by grenades or rockets or any type of other explosives… but what’s the point in destroying the lights by noisy bombs that would stir up a whole sector of enemies if your intention is to sneak in…XD this game has quite a few strange unrealistic settings similar to this one, apart from the lights that can’t be targeted… do u find that’s really awkward and funny that you can only set up machine guns going prone, even if your gunner is crouching right beside the watch tower railings, he has to prone, standing behind a waist high chunk of granite, he has to prone, standing by the window ledge or on the balcony of a building, he has to prone…XD, same goes with snipers too…they just dont seem to be capable of utilizing surrounding covers to their advantage…my advice is not to take it too serious… even if you by any luck succeeded in putting out lights unnoticed, you would only find the stealth kill system to be stupider than the infiltration parts, as in you can walk pass under the nose of a soldier 15 yards away without being seen in broad daylight, yet the same soldier at night would be alarmed by the dead body of his fella soldier you put down 50 yards behind him without even turning his head this way…

Simple, because this allow stealth, something projectors disable on the area lightened, that simple. FYI you can enter in stealth during TB and when enemies are alerted.

was this ever fixed?
Has anyone tried to shoot searchlight with a shotgun and suppressor? Would that work better? I tried dual pistol and wasted 200 bullets for no success.

Can you still effectively stealth if enemies were alerted and running around like crazy wasps?

Depends on your definition of "effectively".

If the enemies are coming at you but you're all in stealth, they will still run towards you. Being in stealth in combat keeps the enemy from being able to target you until they spot you, so the AI won't throw grenades at you, for example.
