Zed is dead, baby.. Zed is dead..
'The Raven' isn't a novel - its a poem.
Unlikely. Tex was in the first Jagged Alliance which came out in 1994. Interestingly he's been massively buffed since then.
Livewire is probably more of a reference to AC/DC - Live Wire then to Limewire
Schliemann the chicken is named after german archeologist and irl treasure hunter Heinrich Schliemann
LOTS of mercs are, just as they were in the first two entries, references to Action Movie Protagonists/Actors like:
- Schwarzenegger
- Stalone
- Glover
- Van Damme
- Seagal
Or even sneaky references to single movies of them, like Shadow, who was inspired by the MYRIAD of action movie posters showing a fully body-camoed soldier with merely any other content on the poster
Some of the references kind of got lost from JA2 to JA3 though, like the Seagal reference Reaper, looks WAY less like Seagal in JA3 then he did in JA2
I refuse to believe that Reaper isn't inspired by John Wick.
Lucky Vinny is obviously a parody of Indian Jones, and his pet chicken Schliemann is named after the dude who claimed to have found the mythical city of Troy (and destroyed who knows how many thousands of artifacts in the process.)
