Good, because Seagull turned out to be Putains ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and his art of bullshido got tiring long time ago.
John Wick didn't exist when Reaper was created, none of his traits or personality even resembles John anyway.
Uhm ... the character if Reaper was initially brought up DECADES before anybody even thought of John Wick ... so ... congratulations to your own personal conspiracy belief! xD
Without a doubt, one of the most problematic action movie dudes
Reaper appeared in Jagged Alliance 2 which came out in 1999.
The first John Wick movie came out in 2014.
So unless Sir-Tech devs were somehow aware of the existence of that character 15 years at least before the movie, we can safely assume that there's no connection with Reaper. Or maybe John Wick was inspired by Reaper? :-P
Veteran Militia will say something I am like Ranbo when talked to. Tex will respond to it. Give them a war they will never forget.
There are also faux-Rambo movie posters around, along with Terminator and The Last Dragon posters that have their names turned to French.
Not My President, this one isn't movies but something else more recent
Inspecting the dead guy in the stage in the Twin Manor, Tex will say he died like Brandon Lee.
When confronting the abuser in the Poacher Camp, Tex will say something Dirty Harry: I forgot when I reload gun, do you feel lucky, punk?
In which world does Reaper look like Keanu Reeves?! xD
Seriously, he's looking more like Razor Ramone in this iteration then Keanu Reeves *gg*
But I'm kind of surprised that we got one of the "I dOn't CaRe AbOUt OleR GaMeS AnD SeQUEls!!111!!!"-people around ... please, go away
Also to add, the banter between Grizzly and Shadow is also a reference to Bad Dudes vs the Dragonkin as they are out rescuing a president together.
Just as central africa and south america is because ... well ... colonialism ... no reference there ;)
Mad Max, to be more specific, Max Max: The Road Warrior and Mad Max: Fury Road
There's even an item dropping there that directly references Fury Road in it's description
Still with most of the locals having french or German names. It feels like a tongue in cheek satire about how the region had been fought between France and Africa. Hell they are quite proud of their colonial heritage and the Grand Chien's Natives are as militant as the French are despite stereotypes
Really? While the game has:
Subtropcial climate
Savannes and mountains
Ocean access
Blood Diamond trade/industry
Multinational corp trying to exploit it
Civil War going on
Primarily german and french language/names
You think of the loraine region of central-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-europe and not of well ... maybe ... Sierra Leone?
Which has ... all those factors noted instead of just one? And even had several movies made about the civil war in late 20th century/early 21st century? Were actual international corps paid PMCs to usurp said blood diamond trade? I mean ... really?
You REALLY must either hate the french or the german with your whole soul if you see the loraine region as being referenced in the game instead of Sierra Leone (there's also lots of german and french named villages and people around there btw ... because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ colonialism xD)
In this case, Arulco from JA2 surely referenced italy Italy because Omerta ... and San Mona xD
For me it's about how every Grand Chienite speaks with heavy french assets that give me that vibe.
