How to kill stealthly with knife?

Every time my merc stabbing someone in the neck while in stealth mode, it only reduce 80% of health. Is there any way to kill with one stab only from behind? I am tired of injured enemies alerting the whole map because stealth kill is not working.

Pick neck shot and right click for increased accuracy. The way to kill with one stab is reloading until RNG gods bless you with 1 shot.

Stealth kill and damage from stealth are seperate things. If you procc a stealth kill, the enemy dies, independant of the damage you did. You can increase the chance with several perks and by being as hidden as possible as you execute your attack.

If you prepare the attack, the four small marks to the right of the targets name will indicate your likelyhood of stealth killing (under ideal circumstances). The more their awareness goes up while you close in for the attack, the less likely an actuall stealth kill becomes.

Melee stealth kills are much easier during rain, as it reduces enemy hearing. But they require some work.

1.Choose the proper skills
2.sneak with your char
3.change to knife
4.sneak to the char you want to kill until you are able that your char could "select enemy as target WITH THE KNIFE attack "prepare stab" .. NOT ATTACK or that stupid m oro n will throw his knife ... select as target the enemy throat, GAME will be even now a little bit in slow motion
5. move with your char to the enemy and when you are close click attack at the throat icon

FORGET everything, get and use a silent rifle/sniper ... sneak, choose enemy, headshot with 10-12 AP ... done

You click on the throat before you even sneak closer. This will prepare the attack and execute it automatically once you move the merc in range

and I did not kill them anyways, they have 10% HP left

I've been able to clear half sectors with Anita 'Mouse' as my stealthy spy. Mostly with a knife, sometimes with a silenced sniper rifle if there was no way to come close undetected. I've had some missed attacks, but in that case her agility sometimes helped her to run away, hide, restealth and try again.
Very satisfying experience I should tell you =)
And after killing all the stray targets I initiated the main assault and mopped up the sector with the rest of my squad.
