Oh sweet, thank you! I can't believe I overlooked that. I guess I was just used to the way that JA2 did it.

So far I have found:
3 different explosives
remote trigger
timer detonator
So I can make a bomb on a timer (seems of limited value -- principally just for doors), but I assumed I need more than just a remote trigger to 'combine' with the explosive. Is there a remote detonator item that I have to build or find?
Or do I 'combine' a remote trigger with a timed detonator to 'pair' it, so to speak?

After combining to make it a remote explosive, you just throw it and there will be a hotbar action to press your remote, and boom.
Ok, so there are three things need for remote triggerable booms. I just haven't found them yet, cool.
Clarified, thx.

yeah i think the fort on starter island(very right side), if you sneak up the left side of the fort with all the mines and climb the ladder there's a lootable under the stairs that usually has explosive parts.
