Spoiler - Army attacks?
Hi. After The Refugecamp event, does the Army not attack activly anymore? 17 days passed and I have retaken and retrained (still in the process) militia where needed. But are they needed anymore? Or is that just waste of time? The Army has not made any more moves during the 17 days.

dunno, but in my playthrough they did send attack troops on a regular basis...

Pretty sure they do kick off again but it takes a very long time. IIRC there is something in recent patch notes about fixing the fortress on Ernie Island so they send out teams but I may be wrong. If you care to check those it might confirm what I am saying but regardless they take a long, long time to restart.
I would focus on retaking any mines that may be sending out teams as they tend to retake heaps of territory if left to do their thing.
By the time you have lived through the event your team is strong enough to just plough through those outposts anyway and once you clear all of those I guess the main story boss locations may be the only ones left so if you are leaving those till last maybe set up militia to block them.

I find Militia to be of questionable value anyway aside from at some very important chokepoints (especially Chalet du Paix). But yes the army will start sending out attacks again, although nowhere near as strongly as after the refugee camp event. The timing of that event is pretty janky. I am able to trigger it now about 1/3 of the way into my second playthrough or avoid the refugee camp sector and delay it for months. I delayed in the first game, whereas this time I think I will take it on pretty soon.

It depends on difficulty settings and probably some obfuscated algorithms that are supposed to give you an opportunity to fight back. If you continue pushing eastward, you'll face more of them, but not to same extent as part of the refugee camp events. If you take over all the army outposts sans Fort Brigand, they will cease altogether, but the Legion squads will in turn become more frequent.

They do attack, just not right from get go. Think of it like they are setting up their new holdings, but after that THEY WILL bombard you with many attacks like Legion did. Where is some pause before they start attacks, like with legion attacks at start of the game, but they will come in numbers eventually. Some attacks will be originated from millitary and some will be commandos from Corazon. Can't tell you precise timing when they start doing it but they DO IT (at least on Mission Impossible). It's interesting though, that diamond shipments will be still done by the Legion savages.

Thank you all! Just a short while after I posted this question, the first attack was sent from the fort on Ernie. Playing on regular diff/First Blood. So now I know they are getting active again. Will keep the militias up and see how frequent it gets!
