Time limitations?

Does this game have some sort of time limitations for quests?
For example, will the president die if you don't save his ass in time?

I think there might be couple, at least 2. But they still give you plenty of time

I don't think there is a timer to do the main quest, but some quests have a timer. So if you don't care for the side quests, you can basically do whatever you want and take your time. Also, the side quests usually give you a heads up about their time to complete.

It also seems that diamond mines will run out of diamonds at some point, making the money situation unsustainable and pushing you to progress.

Main quest is not time limited, but some other quests can be. Suits me just fine as my default playstyle in JA2 was push like a mad man and get one or 2 mines to get a solid income and then stop and strengthen all my gained territory as much as possible and take it a bit slower from there on out.

Yeah this is what Iv'e heard, seems like it would put a soft time limit on the game unless there are enough diamond couriers running around to keep a squad or 2 of mercs active.

I'm hoping to see a mod in the near future that keeps the mines from going dry.

Wait does all mines go dry? I thought only 1 mine dried out, just like JA2. I'm not sure if I like this mechanic.
