Yeah probably the most fundamental combat mechanic that influences the entire way you approach the missions, which is the whole point of the game. I honestly hope you enjoy it though. I am just posting this for anyone who is like ma and looking for an actual sequel to the games we love.
No--the opposite. Night / stealth is pointless because the entire map will be paused while the enemy takes a turn. It's not like old JA where you are just picking people off and it's all real time. It literally pauses the game and the enemy gets to move wherever they want while you are standing there doing nothing. Totally different.
Me too. A lot. I love these games. Like hundreds / thousands of hours.
oh wow forgive me for expecting JA mechanics in a JA game....
What is a JA mechanic? You realize things can move on in 24 year?
Either you anticipate this move or you avoid it with stealth.
I do still hope people will have a good time with the game.
Same. And no ill will toward these devs. But this isn't the same thing we played before. It's not like JA: Back in Action (the one I loved). It's like X-Com 2. I am not interested in X-Com 2 at the moment. In fact, I install X-Com 2 mods to disable the thing JA just added.
Somebody please help my memory - how did it work in JA2 when you were in a real time mode and an enemy discovered you before you noticed them/started combat? Something tells me that the enemy had the first shot (at least as a interrupt), but I may be wrong.
