Water Breathing Potions - A Q or 2
Whilst exploring the Neesara Caves ( Wanderers quest ) I found a tunnel with water at the end.. so I think to myself "Good place to stash some goodies".. as for some reason our peeps can not swim, even though the survived a ship wreck :D.. I saved ( as i knew this was not going to end well ) and dived in to see if there was anything close to be able to swim to.. and behold a chest!! *Gurgle Gurgle Drown*. So I thought wonder if there a Water breathing potion.. so did a search, and yes there is!! Super

As I have not found any for sale yet ( not been playing long ) and after reading the posts on here..

1, Are they now 10 Seconds?
2, If so how much do they cost?

As getting to that chest will take 2 - 3 to not drown or take health damage. so another 2 -3 to return, not sure if there s only the one chest there.. as only swam in one direction.. So if they are expensive? .. there must be something really worth while in the chest to make the cost worth it, if so.

So that leads me to another question, are there dark/night vision potions ( would do a search but only thought of that whilst writing this ).. as the torch goes out when you dive into the water ( nice, it would, would not it :D ) and its Dark down there, hey would make searching non torch bearing areas clearer . An you would of thought some one in a magic world would of made them.

Thanks

You make the underwater potions with alchemy, and I believe the potions may be quest rewards. Not sure that you can buy them. The auspice discipline has access to a lighting spell called ethereal lantern or some such thing. I believe it is a level 1 spell. There aren't any lighting potions. Not sure that having light underwater helps you that much, but I haven't tried so I would't know. I typically just follow my position on the mini map to guide me, even though you move fairly slowly. The underwater potions are called potions of deep breath, and yes they last for 10 seconds. I don't want to say anything about what's on the other end of the water tunnel, don't want to spoil.

Thanks :) no spoilers is fine :) did not want them .. was just over typing.. just want to know about the Potions.. though hopefully can be got other than making, as my alchemist is using points elsewhere ( so only lvl1 at character level 3, ).. so unless you start get more than 2 points per Level.( only burglar get 3, oddly though has lower int that the Apprentice and Initiate, would of thought got more with higher int ). Im up a creek without a paddle ( swimming :) ). Just one issue i find with the game.. but having fun, so that's all that matters. I took, bodyguard, Initiate, burglar and apprentice ( hes the only one with alchemy.. using his 2 points in lore and Runes.. though also need them in Myth, Med and Alch.. so a pain all round, though with short rest, suppose 1 med. could be used elsewhere.. unless there's a reset potion or ability..
It depends on what difficulty you are playing on, as that will determine the level of alchemy needed to craft the potion I believe. I play on cruel so I tend to try and focus on only two different skills per character, three if I'm playing a scoundrel type like a burglar. You may want to check you alchemy to see if potion of deep breath is already in there, if it isn't you will have to buy a recipe for it from one of the vendors, and the recipe will tell you what skill level is needed to craft a potion. You can always edit your skills from word or notepad if you open a saved game in one of those programs. As of right now, I don't believe there is a way to re-specialize unless you use the reset from a previous saved game after a skill related patch was implemented. I typically just edit my saved games from notepad, if I want to try a new build. You can edit talents, traits, classes pretty much anything. Although try to always make a backup save when you mod saves, as often times you can create unreadable files.

You can also buy water breathing potions from the Batrax witch in the sea cave.

If you killed her then alchemy or looting are currently your only options (though I haven't found any as loot yet)
Just level your alchemy and you'll unlock the recipe
Slight issue with that.. you only get 2 pts per level up.. only 6 levels i assume? so only gives me 10 points to play with.. need level 5 for the breathing potion i think.. so need to start again or use 4 of my last 6 pts to raise alchemy. So.. not good really as the game is now forcing you to use points in it.. would of been better if one of your extra companions had the option for Alchemy instead of Crafting.. from what I can see , crafting a bit pointless, unless you raise it to 6 ( for lock picks, if you have run out ) as you get rest of it from drops ( not seen any ranger armour though ).. *shrug*

Hard disagree. Crafting is a really good money maker.
You can turn useless drops into valuable armor, earning you hundreds of gold compared to a run without crafting.
Ah ok.. never thought of it as a money spinner :) I will look into it. Thanks

Marietta has Alchemy.

Oh yeah. Even today with reduced buy prices it is very interesting skill.
Money gainer. A bit of hassle as you have keep leather at yourself, but carpaces are frequently available at first two regions and it will allow you to get interesting armor sooner.

Alchemy is must have if you go with out healers. (E.g. barbarian, squire, burglar, charmer)
