Archaelund

Archaelund

New races availables
i was wondering if you will add new races available during the character creation, i really like the fact that you added frog and minotaure as a race and it opened my imagination even further, you see, in this game, we keep fighting against undead or skeleton, and i was wondeing if we could for the first time in an tactical Rpg being able to play as skeleton or goule or undead, that would be really amazing, i imagine playing in my team from characters creation, a skeleton warrior or skeleton mage. i also was thinking about a demon's race like succubus with her wings and tail fighting while floating in air. and then , if she wears equipment like mage clothes or warrior armor, it might have option to hide the clothes, so we could observe her sexy side.
In any case, i m only listing some ideas. it would be really interesting if we have more possibilities on choice of races when creating character. i know its already on plan for to new races, but what i m saying is that we should not be limited to a certain number of races. since we fight alot of skeleton inside the game, i believe skeleton can also be considered to be added as part of Character's creation, undead or vampire, orc or fairy, in short, unusual races to choose from what are rarely found in any fantasy games.

I think it could be a really nice addition when the game is complete. But that´s up to the developers.
The game already has some unique/strange playable races like the minotaurs, goblin and batrax plus the other two.

This maybe would be an inconsistency in the mythology of the game? Everyone fears the undead. I can understand Archaelund is a melting pot of races, so you can see in cities also goblins and batraxes and so on, but undead is a horse of a different colour. If an undead enters in a village, I expect people screaming and run with fire, not talking and selling items.

Let's understand, it's no matter of "races", it's matter of the building of game's mythology.

Yeah, the game already has an established lore with undead and vampires, so it is very unlikely that those will become a playable race.

However, orcs can be possible. Since those are a race that exists in this world and they are smart enough to be working together with the other races. They were evil in the previous game, but so were goblins so I don't see that as a reason why they couldn't be added.
But the problem with adding them, is that they are another brute melee character. We already have two races like that, with the Minotaurs and the Varannari, so I don't know if orcs will then add much more options to the roster.

Thanks to be open minded, this game is a pure fantasy and i really wish we dot get limited because of lore about character's races available to choose , this game has alot of potentiel and it will be a must to have what other games dont. A large pallet of races to choose.

Orcs would be great. In EK I wonder what was the Orc Kingdom.

We know of two other race that will be added. These are the Quartzan and the Rexadon. Rexadon are Salamander like humanoids, whereas the Quartzan are descendants of former imperial wizards that have been stuck in the plane of earth, no magic capability but high resistance to magic.

Those races you mentioned sound better for an evil-only route campaign, kinda like the Dark Urge in Baldur's Gate 3. Could work in a dlc expansion I think.

If you do want to play as a skeleton then Divinity: Original Sin 2 would be worth a look: you can create custom undead versions of all of the races, and one of the origin characters is also undead.

well, the world come straight from David's previous game more or less. And there are elf people. Kinda. Enemy elf people

It's also a welcome change to have worlds like this that don't just thoughtlessly copy-paste Middle Earth/D&D-land races (and all of the associated setting implications).

Elves are overdone in fantasy. Would much prefer pixies or harpies to keep things fresh.

Adding D&D character races would be awesome!! This game is already awesome, but it would be nice to have D&D type characters.. I would gladly pay more for this in a DLC!! I have no problem paying for quality, and this game is really good.. I have purchased several games since trying Archaelund, and they just don't keep me interested like this game!! Thanks David!!

Seconded - while I certainly enjoy a well done D&D-verse, the novel races in the game, specific to the Dev's own lore are quite refreshing. Not very game needs elves, dwarves and so on.

I'd be down to playing one of those... In all honesty I just don't see myself role-playing a frog person, or anything bizarre like that.
