Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I don't think you can even get this amulet until you get into the top tower on the mountain and that has some pretty serious guards.
Might also need lockpicking to open the chest it's in.
It is possible to take out those guards on the path right at the start but you gotta pretty much cheese it and split them down the path and it helps a lot if you are on an easier difficulty.
So yeah... it's not really that easy to finish early in the game for all that you do get the quest almost immediately.
It's been a little while since I played so I might be in error but if you aren't into the Devils Horn? then don't stress about not finding it yet. Initially I searched the first dungeon area top to bottom looking for it but it wasn't even there. The two areas do link if you have the skills but you can only open the door from the top side now so you still need to take out the guards.
Don´t worry about lockpicks to much, there is a goblin trader in the docks of the city that sells them between days but I believe you need to pass a dialogue check for him to be an available trader. Also if your party has a burglar you can lockpick almost every lock without lockpicks, and speaking of careers there are some spellcaster that can learn the discipline of "auspice" and that discipline has an usefull spell that works like a lockpick but you spend willpower instead.
You need to know that the enemies there are high level and you´re going to face some challenging battles.
The book in the library is literally in a corner inside the library, search in one of them and you find out... a clue, look at the floor. If you're speaking about the map/scroll that tells you the location of the loreseekers is in the table, search well.
About the missing wanderers/loreseekers you should search around the middle of the map where the large pod resides, look for a bandit outpost and you are going to find at least one of them. Theres another one in a close lonely camp. The third one is in the systems of claves called "Nessara cave's" you will need to look for "bones" and of course it will be easier for you to have a torch or magical light to see it.
killed the bandits, red axe , did NOT stay long in the underwater cave, did finally find the medallian, thanks again!
Just a reminder, I believe you need to find the loreeseker that is camping alone for actually interact with the "bones" and have the option to progress in the quest!
