Stuck in the Snakemouth Laboratory (for Leif's quest)

Alright alright, I've gone and ran into a brick wall again. There's a room that consists of multiple switches. Presumably I figured all switches must be on (blue) to solve the puzzle but the lever doesn't seem to budge. Below's a picture to my current situation.

(Side note) I've acquired one key card and opened the left door. Now I think it would be very folly to believe I've just opened the wrong door first, but gosh this area's got my head spinning.

I did that puzzle a few days ago, it gave me some difficulty too. The hint on the note in that room says to give power to the pipes (I couldn't figure out what that meant until later at night when I was laying in bed lol), so you need to only turn on the switches that are under the pipes in that room, meaning the 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th pipes. Do that and the switch will open the gate.

I'll also ask this second question here instead of creating another discussion (which may be the right thing to do idk.) While you, Sapphire, was great help, I've struck another wall since this door still needs a key card and that, I've no clue where it'd be.

I don't remember where all the cards were because I cleared this area earlier so upon revisiting to jog my memory, I'd advise trying:
South-East room, in the attic there
South-West room, get behind the bars and dig left for a bit, then towards the camera
North-West corner room, after the geysers

So I've cleared the room with all the geysers and acquired the gear in there, same goes for the room with all the moving platforms which contained the first key/lab card. The room that has switches connected to gears had the second gear I need. Not sure what was behind the gate in the bottom west area but I think I must've used it already. It's only one last small gear I need for the room with the big wall.

There are two exits on the southern wall, each one contains a card. Make sure you get both so that you can get into both card machines.
