What Bonus to Choose on Level Up?
Is there a proper way of spending the bonus you get from levelups? I’ve gotten everyone’s HP up to 10, and have dumped pretty much everything else into Medal Points. However, I’m wondering if I’m setting myself up for failure with the postgame content when I reach it. Anyone have any advice?

…I’m assuming there’s no re-spec option later in the game? If so, then this really isn’t a problem I guess.

There is a respect option late game, and it's fairly cheap to take advantage of.

As far as level up bonuses, late game you want ALL MP because you will have so many badges to work with that you are going to want every single MP point you can possibly get. HP and FP do not make a worthwhile investment late game.

Early game however can be especially difficult if playing on hard mode w/o investing in some FP+HP.

Most of the really good medals come late game, so you aren't missing much early game when it comes to MP.

I will say this, I played through the entire game with the hard mode medal on, and I only ever grabbed MP on level ups and while it made some particular moments in the game very difficult, it was definitely doable. I just had to make good use of consumables for some of those harder moments...

You should be fine leveling up HP and TP 2-3 times each. There are medals to increase HP and TP, you can find items to permanently, you'll get some HP and TP for free on later level ups and you get a lot of medals after chapter 3, so you'll need a lot of MP for them.
There is a re-spec option, but it can be easily overlooked because of where it's located. The scientist at the beginning of the Forsaken Land does it.

Ah! thanks so much for the answers! I had a feeling Medal Points was the way to go. I'm especially glad there's a respec option down the road. You are right, early game was frustrating in hard mode, but I am seeing it even out now that I'm in ch 4.

Anyone happen to know how many battles long the cave of trials is? I just unlocked it yesterday but didn’t want to invest too much time if I’m only going to be able to get 20 or so levels in and not get anywhere near the end.

50 total, if I recall correctly. A lot of the enemies in the later parts of it are pretty rough if you're not in the lategame.
