Traveling caravan?

I've been playing this game on normal mode, and as such have missed out on the medals you can only get on hard mode. I've seen it posted here that you can buy the medals you missed from the traveling caravan, but they just sell their normal stock at all the locations they appear in.

Is there something I have to do before I can access this?

The medal they sell should be a bit to the right of their right most normal item. It can be a bit easy to overlook.

you buy quick flea (it's a badge apparently, T_T I THOUGHT IT WAS A CONSUMABLE ITEM...) at caravan near your exploration camp (where you start the game) then other badge will appear
