So is melee less op later in the game? Been one shotting everything with the knife and only using the pistol if i'm low health on veteran. I feel like the knife should take a few jabs too if the handgun takes 3 head shots to kill for balance sake.

I think a headstab one shot is okay, because it offsets the higher horde numbers so basically killing one or two zombies with a knife has negligible impact on surviving. I’m assuming upgraded guns suck less later one, but headshots should do what they would do as part of show lore specific to twd zombies.

Not sure, but i think only heavy pistol and revolver kill with one shot in the head.. the first pistol and the burst pistol need like 2 or 3 shots to kill and 4 or 5 shot if hit the chest.

Amazing how a rotting zombie skull is somehow more resilient than a non-rotting human skull, which on most occasions IRL won't survive even a single shot. Maybe it's magic, lol
