15 tickets achievement is insane..

I have just finished a game (standard map) with 14 tickets completed. Pulled 28 to my hand. AI only had 2 (2 players game). And i needed just one more train to complete the 15th one (AI was stalled in drawing the cards at that moment) Examining the map after that i can see where i could cut the road a bit and if i would have one ticket belonging to AI, i could manage to do it, but man.. it is HARD. I only get so lucky to complete 12+ tickets once in a 100 games.. and then you just run out of trains..

I have done like 17 or more tickets on the 1910 map once only to realize that this achievement (hidden one) can only be achieved on USA standard map. So, no Swiss.

As I understood it there's only one set of 15 tickets that is even remotely possible in the original map (required for the achievement). Maybe I'm just overlooking something, though. My screenshot:

Looks almost exactly how mine was in the end. But i went to Atlanta from St. Louis and also Went throug Toronto and St. Mara. Needed Denver Santa Fe and i had the ticket, just one more train cart needed..

Got it with 16 completed tickets. I went transcontinental, going from Vancouver all the way to Montreal. Nice to see how others were able to get this achievement with different routes.

Thanks for sharing. I figured that trying long routes won't be as efficient as a bunch of small ones in one area. Will have to try that.

I have a 3rd way.

With the more efficient route to Atlanta and Nashville via St. Louis, you have 4 cars left over. Skip Montreal for another 3 cars. Replace the 2 lost Montreal routes by claiming the 6-route from El Paso to LA. Scores better on trains and on tickets, but leaves only 1 train left over instead of 4.

It seems that all the solutions include this core set:
Denver - El Paso (4)
KC - Houston (5)
NY - Atlanta (6)
Chicago - New Orleans (7)
Chicago - Santa Fe (9)
Dallas - New York (11)
Denver - Pittsburgh (11)

The other 8 vary between solutions...

I hope you have better luck than I have. I haven't seen the draw-draw-draw phenomenon yet. Every time I go for this achievement I've been stuck with SO many incomplete tickets that my score has varied between -105 and 25. The best I've done on tickets for this map when NOT going for this has been a paltry 8, and I very rarely get to go out first.

I think the route is not an issue. What I would love to hear is your strategy to prolong the game. I constantly find myself missing not a turn or 2 but rather 5-7. AI just ends the game giving me no time to do what I need to do. Tried to draw destination tickets first, but that didn't help. When rushing routes first I usually end up not even finishing those not even taking new destinations into account

Tried all bots. Some makes plays early while some just stack cards to later claim long routes. Unluckily all bots love to claim long routes in 1v1 and that is not good for you. Think first bot is best for this challenge. She likes to make plays early and that allows you to (ever so slightly) counter her to some degree. If she takes one of to routes from that layout - just reset. No point in trying to alternate the strategy.

In my game she got to her last 3 wagons pretty early but after that she just kept on drawing and drawing. She even once took uncovered wagon but returned to picking covered ones after that. I think what is crucial is there can't be any uncovered joker. In the end game AI loves to pick it to make the final route.

Also I think is is important to take the double orange/black 3 wagon route early as AI lvoes that one and takes it pretty often

So, i just got this. I choose Jane Bot and she kept always finishing before i could, but she wouldn't finish her tickets. I changed my game play so that I left a gap in my route (just a short 2 grey) - pretending i was struggling, and she just kept picking up tickets until i filled the gap and finished my game. I hope this will work for some else too.

I just finished this achievement, there was no real strategy to keeping the game going longer, I just kept trying until all the stars aligned. There's three routes that I found the computer took most frequently, so I tried for those first: Houston-New Orleans, Chicago-Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh-New York.
