Windows 10 64 bit missing MSVCR120.dll problem (or you launch from Steam and nothing happens)

I'm posting here to help out others who might run into this problem. To fix it, I had to go here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3179560/update-for-visual-c-2013-and-visual-c-redistributable-package

and download the x86 version of the installer

Downloading the visual C++ 2013 redistributable by default only installs the 64 bit version, and apparently this game needs the 32 bit version.

it's a rule of a thumb to install x86 and x64 versions of C++ redistributables (2010, 2013, 2015, 2017) at the time you install windows. you'll need it anyway for games.

Did not help. The game won't launch. Probably you did something besides that.

This was the correct solution for me.
I had only the 64bit runtime installed, and needed the standard 32 bit (x86) installed to play.
The game install through steam should have this as a dependancy.

Should also note, im running windows 7 64 bit

i will leave it here for future readers. in my case i had the x86 version but the game required me to install the x64 version. go on the second link from OP and install both x86 and x64 versions, just in case. this solved the issue for me.

HI, first of all excuse me... My English is not good. However, I had a same kind of problem with SpriterPro on Steam (msvcp120.dll is missing).

I communicate my solution for 64bits PC :

1- Download all version (X86 and X64) of Visual C ++ on the official Microsoft link (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015-2022) :

2- Uninstall SpriterPro on Steam

3- Uninstall all versions of Visual C ++ on your PC (for example with CCleaner)

4- Reboot your PC

5- Disable your internet connexion

6- Disable your Antivirus and your Firewall (WARNING, Internet connexion should be disconnect before this step)

7- Instal all versions of Visual C++ (see step One), in this order (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013) at first X86 and in second time X64 for each versions. Warning don't instal the latest version (2015-2022).

8- Activate your Antivirus and your Firewall

9- Activate your internet connexion

10- Instal SpriterPro on Steam and launch it (For me, SpriterPRO is now operational). Close SpriterPro

11- Instal the latest version (2015-2022) of Visual C ++ at first X86 and in second time X64 on your PC.

12- Test open SpriterPro (For me, SpriterPro is always functional)

msvcp120.dll is missing . Another comment for my french compratriot because it's difficult to find a solution.

J'ai rencontré le même type de problème avec SpriterPro installé sur Steam (le logiciel ne se lance pas et lorsqu'on tente de le lancer depuis le dossier steamapps/commom le message d'erreur msvcp120.dll est introuvable apparait).

Voici ma solution pour un PC en 64bits:

1- Téléchargez toutes les versions (X86 et X64) de Visual C ++ sur le site officiel de Microsoft (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015-2022) :

2- Désinstallez SpriterPro de Steam

3- Désinstallez toutes les versions de Visual C ++ sur votre PC (par exemple avec CCleaner)

4- Redémarrez votre PC

5- Déconnectez votre connexion internet

6- Déconnectez votre Antivirus et votre PareFeu (Attention, la connexion Internet doit être coupée avant cette étape)

7- Installez toutes les versions de Visual C++ (voir étape 1), dans cet ordre (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013) en commençant à chaque fois par X86 et ensuite X64 pour chacune des versions. Attention n'installez pas la dernière version (2015-2022).

8- Activez votre Antivirus et votre PareFeu

9- Activer votre connexion internet

10- Installez SpriterPro sur Steam et lancez le (Pour moi, SpriterPRO a démarré). Fermez SpriterPro

11- Installez la dernière version (2015-2022) de Visual C ++ d'abord X86 et ensuite X64 sur votre PC.

12- Faite un test en relançant SpriterPro (Pour moi, SpriterPro fonctionne toujours)

Voilà ma méthode...
