Didnt have it before so I dont know why it stutters. Normally its working on 144 FPS constantly without drops. As soon as I come to the pit straight or crowded areas now it drops to 120 or lower. Kinda annoying

If you are using nvidia

NVIDIA staff suggests rolling back Windows 10 update to fix game issues
Since Microsoft released the April 2021 cumulative updates, gamers have complained about frame rate drops and stuttering while playing games.

"This update seems to introduce a large amount of stuttering on my RTX 3070/R5 3600 rig. I initially thought it was corrupting the OS or graphics driver, but nope, the stuttering came back with every re-install and went away with every uninstall," a user stated in a Reddit thread about the April updates.

Windows 10 KB5001330: Microsoft issues emergency fix for performance issues
Windows 10 appears to be getting a new server-side update and it’s one that you might want to apply if you’ve been having any kind of performance issues, such as stuttering, flickering or text rendering issues when playing certain games.

I'm having the same problem

At the race start, the FPS is fine, but as soon as the race starts, the FPS drops inexplicably. FPS is also fine in replay mode, cutscenes and crash animations. Only in the race, qualifying and pratice sessions that i'm having issues.

I have already uninstalled the Windows update mentioned above. It didn't solve anything.

It might just be the Ego engine. I've had lots of stuttering in all the Ego engine games. It feels like a "loading" stutter without any way to make the games load more area around the player or use more of the available system resources.

Anyone else still having this problem? It started for me last week, then yesterday I finally got the server-side fix (confirmed in the Windows Registry), and yesterday everything went back to running perfectly... now the problem is back, and it's even worse than before, I can't even watch youtube, let alone play games. F1 2020 is at 10 FPS for me, while yesterday I was getting 85 or thereabouts. Even older games like Assetto Corsa or Witcher 3 have become unplayable

Just rolled back my Windows to the previous build... it fixed all the issues, except for F1 2020 , still getting between 8 and 14 FPS. :steamfacepalm:

If anyone knows what to do, I'll be very thankful

What's your specs?

Yeah, it's old, but it's not a hardware issue. I played the game for 120 hours with no problems, then the lag started, fixed itself yesterday and now it's back. It's clearly something going on with the lastest Windows builds, I just don't know how to fix it now.

- disable geforce experience if installed
- remove XBOX game DVR if installed
- create a new local useraccount and run the game under that and see if there is any differences (it could be a windows profile issue)

And this might help allthough I expect you allready found it.

I've tried literally everything on that link... nothing works :/

What I find disturbing is that after I recieved the hotfix for the Windows 10 update issue, it ran perfectly, but now it's unplayable even with the hotfix - and I just confirmed that it is in fact installed:

For what I can find quickly, that key appears to disable the problematic part of the update.

fyi, I didn't change anything, my windows is fully up to date and the keys in my registry are the same, and my game(s) all run very fine.

What's the exact windows version you are running.
(press Winkey + R -> in the box type: winver -> press enter)
It will give you the exact build version of your windows. Mine is 20H2 (19042.928)

You can also try to uninstall the update: kb5001330

AND

* Reinstalling full windows 10 latest version from scratch might be quicker than troubleshooting.

We're using the same exact version of Windows. Uninstalling the update didn't help either. I might just do the full reinstall tomorrow and see if that helps, but I'm not holding up my hopes. Thanks for your help
