I also dislike how they always show green flag, yellow flag then green again just before there is a safety car.
Edit: Yes, virtual safety car exists in the game but it's very rare.
If it's just a few races, then it's propably just bad luck. If it's that over several seasons, then it could also be a bug. I would say, that one SC every 2 to 3 races is normal from what i've seen so far.
Then look up the italian GP last sunday. Magnussen parked right in front of the pit entry, which might seem to be "a good spot" to a spectator, but not only did they close the pit entry, they even deployed the safety car. You can call that as much dumb and unrealistic as you want, but it definitely happens way more often in real life than in game.
The game is all over the place with calculating the impact of a car. Sometimes it might just don't even deploy a VSC, while a car stays on the racing line, while 2-3 cars going wide on a chicane can cause a full SC sometimes.
That just happens because of how the game handles yellow flag events. Every track is seperated in several yellow flag-zones and when a car causes a problem (either going off track or having a technical issue), it causes the actual zone and some zones behind it to show yellow flags. And these zone will somewhat travel along the track, when the car which causes the yellow flags, drives further down the track. That's however not related to the SC, but just you being unlucky to being right at the end of the zones, which switch from yellow to green again. That will therefore also happen, when no SC is deployed, when you're in the same position.
And that's also a big difference compared to real F1: The game can precicely tell, where the yellow flagged car is and therefore can show you yellow flag-areas with more precision. The real F1 on the other hand just marks way more zones as yellow flagged, as they can't tell that fast, where it might be dangerous (they might be able to tell, where a crashed car crashed, but they need to make sure as well, that there are no parts or liquids on the track somewhere before it).
in more than 25 races the same procedure. i had just a few races without any safety car because no car DNF.
i wonder how it can differ that much. maybe it would chance behaviour if i deactivate safety car for one session and reacitivate it then?
i don't have anything against the safety car, it even makes sense in some cases ofc. i just wish that the game would make a difference between a massive danger which foces the safety car coming out, or just mechanical failure with a short VSC or none of them for minor issues - no impact on track. but the game doesn't seem to make any difference at all. :/
in 2019 game i never had a safety car in one whole season.
