Rich fuel mode the entire race (50% distance)
I was able to keep my fuel mode on rich the entire race. It was on +2.26 laps from the start and I finished the race with +1.22 laps of fuel. I'm in season 3 in my team and I've always had to be careful so I don't use "rich" too long. Is this a new glitch?

If you complete your Race Strategy programme during practice with the rich mix, the suggested fuel load during the race will also be for rich mix. Anyway, you shouldn't run the entire race with rich mix because it increases engine temperature and wear.

When I think about it I didn't do the race strategy program for that race. I never touch the fuel setting so that must be why. Thanks for the help.

You should, actually, complete race strategy. It will at least allow you to better see whether your car settings are good or bad for the tyres, which will also affect pit-strategy during the race.

Yeah you're way over fueled. You should be using Rich on the straights but Lean in the low speed corners to increase traction, and as KRON said, using Rich too much will cause issues later in the season.

You really shouldn't run the engine in rich mix the entire race, even if you have enough fuel for it. It causes overheating, resulting in reduced power output, and I imagine it also causes more ICE wear or some other components.

The Race Simulation Practice Programme is essential to determine your fuel load strategy. It would also take into account your driving style and the fuel mix mode that you use in the practice. If you run the full 5 laps in Rich mix, they will overfuel your car so you can run on Rich Mix the whole race.

But if you use Lean for the entire 5 laps during practice, they'll underfuel your car so you can only run the whole race on lean mix.

Also to keep engine wear to a minimum. You should run on Lean mix during practice sessions as often as you can except the ones that are locked to Standard or Rich.

Use Lean mix on your outlap, flying lap (whenever possible), and in lap. And you should have minimal engine wear for the whole season.

If no strategy simulation is done, the game will just use the standard fuel usage values of the AI in this car. People, who race enough to know, how much fuel they need, can definitely skip this program if they want to and set the fuel load themselves.

if you use rich mode in race trim program (training) you'll have enough fuel for using rich whole race. but i would prevent it because it causes overheat of your engine which cost performance and raises wear. and having more fuel than needed cost speed on straights also.
