I like worthabuys channel, he's a funny guy, but he don't know a great deal about Racing games! hell he gave Grid a big thumbs up and its garbage. He voted up PC 2 and it has the worst indian file A.I. in the history of sim racing games, not to mention the terrible handling physics of 80% of the cars in that game. The 1.4% VR user stat says it all, you need look no further as to why its not been implemented, common sense decision by the devs.
True.
I used to play VR games only. That is, until my 5 year young daughter dropped my headset causing left display to die. Currently saving up for a replacement.
^this.
For those of us that want VR support (me included) There are plenty of other excellent racing sims with VR support. Project CARS in VR with sound is incredible, the car sounds and realism just can not be reproduced on a flat screen monitor.
You may be happy doing so, and you have games that cater to your choice. So why do you expect EVERY game to cater to you specifically, even when it is not actually required nor even cost beneficial? And also trying to insinuate that anyone not using VR is not "as capable" a racer or is somehow inferior for not doing so is just hilarious. Especially when you look at an E-sports setup.
Money. That's why. Just because something is a fad doesn't make it unprofitable in the short term. It just means it has no real long term future, as it wont become mainstream. It is also a way for them to flog non touch screen displays that are abundant in supply.
Do not be fooled by the "hype". The majority of gamer's simply do not want to wear junk on their heads to play games. There was a greater uptake of 3D TV displays and all major (and many minor) manufacturers got in on the act. 10 years later and none of them are making 3D TV's anymore.
In 10 years time, lots of games will still not support VR. And the number of games that do support it will dwindle to near zero (if not zero completely). You can quote me on that.
If VR headsets weren't so expensive for a good one, they'd be far more popular. However, me personally am not interested in VR, if they were cheaper I would still buy one though as games like Half Life: Alyx I really wanted to play(big half life fan).
