No Real Sponsors for MyTeam mode?

In an article from the Official Red Bull website I read that there would be no real sponsors for the MyTeam mode to choose from, according to developer Lee Mather.

What is interesting is that the red bull website does not mention that there will be no real sponsors. This only seems to have been addressed on the German website

Die Idee besteht darin, als 11. Team in der F1-Saison 2020 an den Start zu gehen. Man erstellt seinen eigenen Rennstall, zieht Sponsoren an Land und kümmert sich um die Techniker, Weiterentwicklung, Finanzen und Verträge. Echte Firmen wird es als Sponsoren allerdings nicht geben, das sei laut Mather zu schwer umzusetzen und mit zu vielen Hürden verbunden.

Neben einem Hauptsponsor sind bis zu fünf weitere Geldgeber möglich, die eurem Rennstall jeden Monat eine Finanzspritze liefern. Das dadurch verdiente Geld kann dann wieder in bessere Mitarbeiter investieren oder für Vertragsverhandlungen nutzen, um bessere Fahrer anzuwerben.

hmm ok i Understand but why is it Possible in other Games Like Dirt and Grid ?

I prefer no real companies, I won't choose according to how woke and stupid they are, the real world sucks so the less I have in my game the better it is.

They chose not to have real sponsors, probably partly because of licensing issues but mostly to give players creative freedom. Real sponsors would want certain placement or the use of certain colors and CM didn't want to limit player freedom.

the game still has real world sponsors in the game - just in career mode. Realistically they're still likely in MyTeam, they just cant be selected by the user created team because it would influence what your able to do with the logos etc. I could easily see brands getting mad that someone used their logo and made a stream and did something stupid like drop the n word live or using a competitor color scheme (use redbull then make your car monster green)
