However, the installations being in such perfect conditions where you just unscrew the receptacle and easily put in a new one is just not how it goes 99% of the time, there is always an issue.
I would also like problems like finding ground faults, motor installations (e.g. water pumps in a basement), opening walls to run conduit and climbing poles to install a service entrance or just maintenace to the transformer.
I don't live in europe so I feel disconnected from the game, I've been working with north american receptacles and seeing those round plugs and wide switches slighty confuses me, plus seeing the MCB and not the old janky black breakers. It would be cool if you could choose between european styled outlets and american.
I'm not sure if the game will be 100% about residential, but if we can also choose between working for residential, commercial, industrial or even go for lineman trade which I would immediatly fall in love with. The game would immediatly be my favorite game of all.
Also I'd like the game to do code citations. Like box fill, conduit fill, uses permited and not permited, since some people can play and think "oh its just putting the stuff in there".
Game should tell you that you will often need to size wiring, breakers, conduit, boxes and receptacles.
I added more in my review but I'll leave it there since I think I can give the idea as to what I mean.
I'd also like proper optimization, game is too laggy. And considering the graphics and size of the maps it has... It should run on low end computers even.
Or at least have the options to change the graphics.
Some of the things you are writing like optimization are being worked on. The prologue was made on the old development builds. From that day devs spent a lot of time working on the game, so it should be far better. There will be more options to change the graphics also. If the game will be successful I think other systems will come in dlc, as this is a lot of work. I was really surprised when I went online to know how many there are. Any good ideas here (if not all) will be read carefully and maybe some of them can come in patches/dlcs/updates/sequels.
I don't go to school or take online classes, so this feels like it could teach me a lot of things and I won't feel so nervous of doing the real thing when it comes to it.
As per the poster above, I do hope there is challenges inside the light-switch system. It can't really be as easy as plug n play can it?
The thing is, I don't know. I know the game can't make 1 a expert on everything, but it would be good to know what things are, what they do, why they exist, and why we need them, and why we will be using them to fix things.
If I had any other feedback, its you always have to zoom way into the light switch to disasemble it. I feel like the parts should go a bit further out or away so they don't block the view or me accidently clicking them because they are too close, and act as a "undo" button and re-assemble by mistake.
I don't think this game will teach you how electricity works... Every electrician that's just beginning has already learned that theory.
If you wish to learn how it works, then google for "Engineering Mindset" and find their video that explains how electricity works.
Agreed. Until this game takes into account different world voltages and outlets, it should be titled "European Electrician Simulator."
