Maybe should update the store page. I wouldn't have known unless I saw this thread. I was about to NO when I saw the player count.

Does this mean server-side authentication is no longer required? I have a few space sims with online-only aspects that prevent me from even playing them at all.

Server-side authentication only happens when you log into the online mutiplayer. Tutorials & sandbox mode are played completely offline.
