Sumerians

the game will have wars?
I think war is very important for a strategy game, it would be interesting to recruit troops and command them in looting enemy city-states, and it is clear to defend yourself when they attack you. what I think is that wars would be based only on looting, alliances and / or commercial blockades, but not on conquering cities, because the fun is playing as a Sumerian city-state and not an empire, and we could have a mechanic politics, with internal disputes for the government / power with the nobles and religious, etc ... I think this game has everything to be very good and can improve a lot if these things are added ...

There are not wars or attacks in Sumerians.
If some kind of warfare is considered in the future It will be an optional feature.

Boring game. Should be labeled "Casual".

It's a building and management game where you grow an ancient city from the role of the state.
You can find a more complete list of features in the website: https://decumanusgames.com/sumerians/

You could implement raids similar to the ones in Children of the nile.

This is my type of game a relaxing building game. Frankly there are too many violent games like this and to be honest I like to see more of these types of games.

I would not say that there are too many violent games, at least not in this genre. Banished and Foundation are peaceful and if look up the other city builders that come up over the next year I see no warfare as such.
Personally I prefer trade and economy over warfare. In the old pharaoh games I always opted for the economic path to win a mission rather than the military path. Give me a real deep economy and I don't miss warfare. A real deep economy for me are long production chains and a lot of different products. gather resources and buy from others what you can't produce locally. Trade finished products. Also I like the Caesar approach with advisor for lots of different requirements of your citizens. If hat is deep enough I would not have time for war anyway.

That said, it would be nice to have a war as an option in case you don't agree with your neighbours about certain things. great would be a map and diplomatic relationships with neighbours. To keep it simple, warfare could for me be done indirectly (recruit soldiers but battles can take place outside he map).

Wow at some of these comments...have none of you ever played an economic sim?

Hmm, "boring games".. I bet you haven't played SimCity series and Cities: Skylines? What the devs probably want is such game but set in the dawn of human civilization rather than the present day. I wouldn't even call it a casual game since these kind of games with micro management do have quite a complexity that is quite far from casual. Also, it is quite welcome to have a game where you don't have to think about any militia forces and invading enemies. I think many fans of Cities: Skylines would probably be interested in this game so there won't be a need for enemies. However, natural disasters could be a thing since the ancient civilizations did have certain problems with floods since all settlements were nearby rivers and lakes.

It will be quite interesting to follow this game and it's development

one could argue that these ancient cities were shaped by conflicts and I would like to see some form of conflict in this game in the future. Otherwise I can continue to play cities skylines for a casual city building experience.
