To fix, close your game, go in your local file and open open "Input.ini" file in
Find the two action mappings called "system_chat" like below
One is for the keyboard, the other is the gamepad. At the end where it says "Key=F2", change to "Key=None". The gamepad might already say None which is fine.
You won't be able to chat, but it won't conflict with controls. You could also try to put in a different key and see if that works if you want to keep chat.
