How do I set the target on a smart sensor?

I'm not seeing any way to tell the thing what to target, it always targets the drone by default, which isn't usually helpful... I'm sure I must be missing something obvious, right?

In programming drag one of your outputs from your smart sensor into the programming field. Once your output has been placed in the field simply click on it and your target options will appear on the left.
