Linux

Does anyone play this game on Linux? For me it does not work.

I have:
* Ubuntu 20.04 updated
* latest NVIDIA drivers 440
* latest Steam client Jul 8 2020
* latest Proton 5.0-9 (I also tested older versions of Proton)

All the other Windows games I tested (about 10) work without problems.

Hrdina first shows a small window to select if I want to play the game or open the directory with the music. When I start the game a large window with black border shows up, mouse cursor is hidden in the window, three notes plays on strings and then nothing happens. The window can be only closed (Alt+F4).

It would be really pity if the game is intended for MS Windows only :(

Sadly the game was never meant to be on linux
The issue is probably caused by your emulator, maybe by DX12 rendering.
I am sorry, I dont know if it is possible to run it on linux.

Yes, it is really sad that it is Windows only, I really like Zrní :(

Proton is not my emulator. It is official part of the Steam client. It is based on Wine. Steam introduced Proton several years ago and currently a lot of Windows games work nicely on Linux.

I can check if it can be compiled for DX11 or Vulcan if you are willing to test it.

yeah, tested on latest Proton 5 and it does not work

sad to see so many developers that live in a bubble of Windows

I forgot to write that I contaced Bartoš Studio by email. They prepared multiple builds of the game for various DX versions and Vulcan. I tested them (including various Proton parameters) and unfortunately none of them worked.
