The issue is probably caused by your emulator, maybe by DX12 rendering.
I am sorry, I dont know if it is possible to run it on linux.
Proton is not my emulator. It is official part of the Steam client. It is based on Wine. Steam introduced Proton several years ago and currently a lot of Windows games work nicely on Linux.
