Ridiculous Difficulty
I understand that there some difficulties but when you get fight with enemies doing 3*11 and similar other dmg turn, its make it stupid because nothing I could have done can prevent 30+ dmg a turn, even being the best player in the world.
meh...

You need to consider offense as well as defense when building your deck.
Also having a hard encounter that costs you alot of health ... doesnt mean the run is dead .... hell i had 14 and 26 health left on my heros and still beat the boss in that chapter after having some bad luck. Your first run will mostlikely be not that successful but i personaly beat it the second run and then the game just realy opened up.

Stick with it ... you will not regret it <3

but if I never get the choice of card with block or the randomn doesnt give me those card, doesnt matter, its stupid, purely random and not fun to have this ridiculous difficulty where you barely have any control
even the "good" block card give 10, you still need 20+ block the same turn, so unless you specificly got 3-4 card that does the same

I could be wrong but from watching youtube this game looks a little to easy. Not sure whats going to keep people playing, see STS was hard and then they made it harder it was a challenge.

not at all, i have quite a bunch of hours in Slay the Spire and Monster train and got ascension 10 in slay and MT.
so I know what I am talking about.
there no strategy to have against a monster dealing 25+ dmg every turn, no matter how good your pick were, because it nearly impossible to have 20+ blocks every turn for several turns.

This game is severely less consistent and far more reliant on meta progression than StS or Monster Train. The amount of builds that "work" are really narrow, and the games pretty much demands you play every encounter mathematically correctly to not end up in a losing spiral.

It's just not enjoyable and the devs have been made aware of this quite a lot. Good for you if all you play is deck builders and you have the patience to brick runs until you get an intuitive understanding of this game's brand of jank, but that's not most people.

Better reel back on the ego boyo, I would say I'm pretty savvy at deckbuilders, and I haven't had a single loss yet, I've beaten the game 7 times already and have 40%+ achievements after 8 hours played, and I can, without a doubt in my heart, tell you, that you're not the best player in the world, not even close, you dont know what you're talking about.

I can block 50 dmg every turn, if you'd like, and deal 200 dmg in the same turn, want to know how? Its called, being good at the game, cuz you're not, so reel it in, fatboi.

Dont come 'ere talkin' 'bout how difficult this game is, the game is easy for someone with deckbuilder knowledge, you dont have it, so stop blowing your own horn and let us know how good you really are.

Talk about reel back the ego. Sheesh! Pot calling the kettle black here.

Guy's it's getting kinda spicy in here - try to keep it clean please!

If the game is hard - say what you find hard and maybe someone can help

If the game is easy - share your pro-tips!

EDIT: Deleted some posts. Bans will be next.

EDIT2: Bans were indeed, next.

Ok. Try a little humility sometimes. It's a much better look.

Sorry Nacon - posted at the same time as your response.

its just, its hard I understand but when you have encouter of elite doing 25 ish dmg for 4 turn in a row, its just hard to manage and you dont have a lot of card draft to really upgrade your deck that much.

As with other games of this genre, it can seem super unfair until you get the right combos in your deck and your own power rises suddenly.

For what it's worth, as someone who has played similar games before but is no expert I found the difficulty well balanced so far.

Based on only one game, I had the impression that chapter 1 and 2 bosses were less dangerous than in the demo. I had very low HP when challenging them but it went well. For chapter 3 I was convinced I had a pretty good deck and challenged the boss with full health only to get completely destroyed in no time so I still have much to learn.

Fun game so far!

It's because unlike other deckbuilders this game has a very pronounced meta-progression system. You basically have to lose a lot, grind out meta upgrades and then you'll never lose. Very questionable design for this kind of game.

1. I'd argue that beating bosses/collecting pages and gaining experience is not "losing very often" but that's my unique taste with these kind of games (I understand that other players might see that differently).

2. (and this one I'm sure on) The game is based around a modifier system after your first complete run so saying that you will not lose again (even after completing the skilltree) is absurd. I've only seen the first list of modifiers so far but they already pack a huge punch (in unique ways tho).
Drago Jun 17, 2021 @ 3:31pm
But the game should get harder.
