Makes it an even bigger mess trying to give "workarounds" without a proper fix to the underlying system, which is why until things are repaired a better option is telling users to turn off cloud saves.
(Have had experience in the past with poor dev work to cloud save system led to all sorts of horrible issues for users. A lot of what users were reporting here sounded very similar to what Ive seen in the past, which led me to comment on a separate thread that turning off cloud saves might be useful.)
*Edit: I should have been more clear and am not saying the dev work here is poor, but just from my own experience in the past. Was more an issue with the developers not being familiar with PC development as they were mainly mobile devs. Though the short of it all is that the problems mentioned by users here really seem similar to the ones we were having related to the cloud save system. Odd considering that this game the save data itself should be fairly straight forward as it does not include any real "online" functionality / related data which would muddle things up further with files needed to be transferred to the cloud to ensure proper functionality with the system on Steam.
- Close Roguebook
- Delete your save folder
- Right click Roguebook in Steam library
- Disable Steam Cloud Sync
- Start Roguebook
I started up the game and had a new game with no progress. I did backup my old save files so I was able to restore it luckily. If I'm assuming something incorrectly from the instructions, feel free to label me as an idiot.
It's hard to wait.
Please...
I just bought the game and my progress has reset multiple times now.
Very disappointing
I only had the folder for Abrakam Entertainment SA so I added the suffix and prefix to match the untiy labeled folder. I also had to remove the Roguebook folder but kept the save folder and steam user folder. Hope this helps you!
