Replacement for Stamen Map
From what i hear is CMO cant use Stamen any more is that right ? and if so i hope they plan on replacing this map mode with something with the same quality right ? because it was the only map mode i used it was the best mode because you could see individual buildings and was super accurate, i hope this is just a bump in a road

OpenTopoMap also offers resolution down to individual buildings, give it a try.

Thanks for the info Dimitris, much appreciated. I also think it's important for us, the customers, to boycott Stamen. I'm sure there are many of us here who buy their products, so the right thing to do is to cease all business and go elsewhere. If they want to go bankrupt, great! Goodbye Stamen and good riddance! Cheers!

Dimitris are there any plans on adding new map modes to compensate for what was lost ? those 2 map layers where the only ones i used the OpenTopoMap wasn't as good (Only tried it once did not relay like it don't remember why) and the town-road & border layer was vary useful for putting on other layers

What's wrong with Stamen. Didn't even know they were a widely known company. Hell, just found out they are.

They started charging for the service, so I think it's going to be too expensive an option for the amount of traffic that would coming from players.

Please add official support for Mapbox (in Bring your own account + token sense). It works with Fiddler interjecting the calls in between, but it is a bit pain to set up.

Edit: Or just possibility of configuring a custom tilemap provider. Users can provide sample configs and instructions how to set it up.

Its good and bad at the same time. Good that you can get some "open" source maps. But they aren't as open as you think. And the process is not for the faint of heart. Considering there are more than a few players of CMO who don't know what a folder is, not sure if this is a viable solution. Then throw in the file sizes and bandwidth needed to make it a solution only in theory for most. Especially considering you can still use a bunch of default maps.

From what i gather the Issue with this is its not the whole world map its only "bits" of the map that you export to CMO.... I think AND you have to login as well

It can be the whole world, if you are will to take the pain. But global overlays are a massive download, unzoomable, and hits data limits pretty quickly. You run into the same issues as the devs. Its not truly open source.

If you guys are fair and honest , you should stop selling the game in the meantime while you search for a solution.

It would be great if you guys took this as an opportunity to allow users to keep whole maps, or regions cached. I know for me it can get very game breaking when I'm dealing with small distances and the map suddenly needs to download the road level map.
