I really hope the solution offered is not just 'set your DPI for 100%' - because although that seems to work, it's a pain in the a$$ to have to do that and then reset after playing every time.
Setting the Command.exe Properties\Compatibility to "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" does NOT work with CMO. It does work for me in other programs where this same UI scaling issue is a problem (like Battlefront's Combat Mission games).
I really hope the Devs address this problem soon. Game is essentially unplayable for me until it's fixed.
Developers really need to get their act together regarding higher resolution support. Currently 10.12% of Steam users operate above 1080p resolution. And I am willing to bet that will be up to 25% in the next few years. Anyone who buys a new monitor and video card has no reason not to go 4K since prices are getting so low and even mid price cards have the power to support it.
After using a 4K monitor 1080p looks terrible to me particularly on a large (34") monitor so no matter how good I will not buy a game that does not properly support 4K with interface scaling.
Developers should at least make it clear on the store page if a game does not support above 1080p correctly.
We do have a 4K automatic adjustment routine inside the program, but sometimes for various reasons it is blocked and users have to perform the equivalent manual steps as described here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4190908
For reference, this is how it looks on my 4K monitor: https://i.imgur.com/jbIxMdN.png
Thanks for your response. Based on your comments I did purchase CMO and it does automatically adjust to 4K as you indicated. It is playable but does not really take advantage of true 4K resolution - looks like 1080p on a 4K monitor. However since the game is so interesting I will keep it and put up with the less than perfect presentation. It would be great if you can support true 4k sometime in the future.

The info on the Matrix site is outdated. It refers to CMANO, not CMO. For example, there's no ""PreferExternalManifest.reg" in the main directory PreRequisities folder, at least not in the Steam installation. There's also no "\GameMenu_CMANO" folder.
Trying to get this to work for 1440p monitor set to 125% DPI.
I've also tried "Solution #2" and it does not work.
For anyone else's reference, here's what the Matrix site recommends trying:
SOLUTION #1 (New in v1.12):
-------------------------------------
1) On the [Command]\PreRequisites folder, there is a new file "PreferExternalManifest.reg". Run it, and it will add a registry key.
2) Navigate to the Command installation folder. Right-click on the file Command.exe to bring up the file properties dialog. In the compatibility tab check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" check box and in the drop down for that, select "System".
3) ONLY IF USING STEAM: Navigate to the Command installation folder (e.g. C:\program files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command Modern Air Naval Operations). On the folder \GameMenu_CMANO, right click on the file autorun.exe to bring up the file properties dialog. In the compatibility tab check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" check box and in the drop down for that, select "System". (Thanks to Mark Doran for the tip!)
NOTE: In CMO, there is no GameMenu_CMANO folder. Instead, right-click on the file "Launcher.exe" and apply the tweak as described above.
4) Delete the file Command.ini (located in [CMANO install folder]\Config)
5) Run Command. The UI should now lay out correctly without any distortions.
SOLUTION #2 (Do this only if #1 does not work on your system):
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Shut down Command, and delete the Command.ini file located in [CMANO install folder]\Config. Deleting this file will reset your personal preferences and (this is the important bit) detected DPI settings.
2) On your OS display settings, set the resolution to 1920x1080, and the "size if text, apps and other items" (a.k.a. DPI setting) to 100% (or 125% if you want to experiment).
3) Log off your Windows session and log-in back again (This is essential! Windows 10 allows changing the DPI settings without forcing you to log-off, but many apps and indeed even many Windows UI elements will be distorted if you don't. This includes Command.)
4) Start up Command. The revised DPI settings will be detected and Command will adjust itself to them. The UI elements should now render properly and without issues.
@Dimitris: These workarounds worked (and work) for CMANO, but for CMO, even when I get my display to loolk like yours and I start to think that evertyhing will be fine, I open the Mission Editor and the text is bigger than the boxes. Only solution is to scale to 100%...
Please, patch this or find a suitable workaround...
