Command: Modern Operations

Command: Modern Operations

Laser Dance
The description of the tutorial states: You have two strike aircraft, a total of 4 bombs, and there are 4 targets. But if you miss you can always use guns to sort things out.

So, being the idiot I am I lost one of my Harriers (they were dropping altitude but alas not soon enough). The second Harrier continued its mission and dropped the two LGBs. Thing is, I cant use guns to sort out the other targets because I used my only bombs and have two Sidewinders left over. No guns. Unless I'm really really blind. My bad if this was already reported or if I really am missing something.

EDIT: Redid the tutorial. Some missile launches on the return trip, but the launches were all I ever saw. Men are back at the base. Leaving this up in case this is an issue that needs fixing, whether adding guns or changing the description.

Loadout:
2x AIM-9L Sidewinder
2x CPU-123 Paveway 2 LGB
1x TIALD 400 Pod [FLIR + LRMTS, 25k ft]
2x 250 lmpG Drop Tank

I'm on the phone and can't control but the guns are always mounted, they are not part of the payload. have you check strafing gun on doctrine?

I checked one of the flight tutorials, and though the gun does not appear in the loadout, they are in the WRA in the doctrine window and appear as an option when using manual attack.

I redid Laser Dance to see if the same was true here. No gun appears in the WRA section of the doctrine window, and no gun appears as an option when conducting a manual attack. Note I checked both prior to and following changing the strafing doctrine to yes.

Ultimately, this doesn't affect me (anymore, during my first attempt it clearly did since I lost a plane). I thought maybe it should be pointed out though. Just in case.

EDIT: Oh yes...thanks for pointing out they aren't part of the payload. I figured everything loaded on (including ammo for the gun) would be part of the payload. It makes sense it wouldn't though. I feel so....hah!

I opened the scenario and actually that harrier model doesn't have guns.
you have to think that the scenario was done many versions of the database ago, surely when it was done the guns were present. I don't know if it's a mistake or if it actually has no guns, in the first case I'm sure that the next update will solve it, in the second it will probably be enough to change the harrier with another version with guns.
Yes the guns are in the mounts department and not payloads as they are part of the aircraft
