Game keeps crashing on large scenarios
Actually this happened since quite some time ago. When I was playing large (and sometimes not that large) scenarios, the game would randomly crash, and I thought maybe it was because my 8-year-old computer was getting too old for this. But today I received my freshly bought new computer, and the game keeps crashing on it, at almost the same point.
To be specific, I was playing the "Taiwan Campaign 2019" scenario which can be found in the steam workshop (there was an English version back in CMANO steam workshop). The game would crash when I launched my "first strike" of SRBMs and ARMs. Granted, it's quite a large scenario with hundreds of aircrafts, ssm launchers, dozens of ships and not-single-unit-airfields, and I was launching almost a hundred missiles at the same time. But the thing is, I have finished this scenario before with the old CMANO, and I don't remember it crashing for a single time, even though I had more missiles flying at the same time.
I've tried switching "extra memory protection" on and off, but it doesn't matter.
As for my hardware specifications, my computer has a Intel i7-11800H cpu, 16G RAM, and a RTX3050 gpu, but I doubt it's the problem with my gpu.

Please give this update a try: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=5043524

You will have to apply it manually for now.

Well, I tried it, and things didn't improve much.
The game still crashes randomly, and will occasionally tell me that it failed to autosave due to out of memory error.
By the way there seems to be some bugs with certain weapons. The game refuses to let me fire DF-16 missiles because I don't have clearance to use nukes, even though these missiles are equipped with conventional warheads. Other SRBMs don't seem to have this problem but I'm not certain.

Is this happening on any of the hundreds of scenarios in the workshop, or only when playing the gargantuan ones? If it's a 20.000 unit scenario I won't be surprised if it barfs out.

Scen save demonstrating this?

Also, let's go through the "usual suspects" checklist:

* Is the OS fully updated? Graphics drivers updated? Direct-X 9 installed?
* Is Command running as admin? (ie. prompting you "are you sure you want to run this program" when you launch it)
* Are Steam overlays disabled for Command?
* Is Direct-Write disabled on the Steam client?
* Are all other applications (and especially hardware-helper apps like MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner etc.) shut down?
* Are you using a high-DPI desktop? (ie. font size >100%)
* Are you using Norton antivirus? (This POS is very frequently silently blocking file updates)

You mentioned that the crash seems to consistently occur at the same point-in-time within the scenario. If easy, can you please upload the last autosave prior to the crash? This would help us isolate any possible issues. Thanks.

1. OS fully updated. Graphics drives updated. Not Direct-X 9, Direct-X 12.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. All but steam. Well actually I think the OMEN gaming hub is running in background, but I didn't launch it, it launched itself.
6. Yes, 125%. Tried to run the game at 100%, didn't help.
7. No.

I tried a smaller scenario, it worked quite well. But the point is that back in the times of CMANO I don't remember it crashing for a single time, even though it would run really slow.
I don't think I can upload a file here, so I will open a new thread on Matrix forum and upload the save file there. The file is both about DF-16 and the crash problem.

Actually it's not any single point-in-time, more like a short period of time when you don't really know when exactly it will crash, but you know it will crash really soon.

Ok I don't know what's happening, but the forum doesn't let me upload my save file and keeps telling me "C:\fakepath\Autosave.scen is not supported". So I'll upload it to google drive instead

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L2kkcqqraDMflUWOWE3nwJhH2y2UhzYI/view?usp=sharing

Basically after opening the save file, I would fire all ARM missiles from aircrafts that is currently flying, and launch 80 DF-16B at 20 different target, 4 apiece. Plus I launched rocket attacks from those two MLRS launchers near the coast.
Soon after that the game should crash, or maybe telling you it can't save due to out of memory error first. If it doesn't launching some more SRBMs should surely crash it.
