You sir, Are a gentleman. Thanks very much ^-^
I've just seen this and I really really hope, that this will become available for the consumer edition as well!
I've got a bunch of friends who I would love to play this game with. Some of them don't even own the game yet and are waiting with their purchase for MP to become available. I've started designing dedicated MP scenarios a year ago and really hope to be able to play them in multiplayer eventually!
It will be so much more interesting to play against other players that act much more naturally and not as scripted as the AI!
As you can see by the regular updates and improvements, we are hard at work behind the scenes. A keen observer might even notice the foundations for a particular method of multiplayer gaming that are being added gradually.
Multiplayer is a big deal compared to other features, as it touches (and therefore has an opportunity to interfere with) all aspects of the sim. We need time to make sure that the model we have now in place for highly regulated, highly secure networks used by professional clients is suitable for the wild west of the general internet and all the variables that come with individual system configuration that we just don't see in the Pro arena (the issues with 3rd party overlays are a good example here, you won't find DoD computers with that stuff!)
Once it's ready and released for the commercial market, you'll forget all about the wait :)
I'm part of a wargaming group and some of us already play the game for quiet some time, while others want to buy the game when MP is available. That's why I'm really looking forward to this feature, as it will be a totally different challenge to fight thinking humans instead of the pre-defined AI behaviour. :)
Can't wait ; when MP is available you'll get several purchases from by group of friend.
I'm just returning to the simulator now that I have a new decent PC. And now it runs just fine [CMO]. Can't wait for the MP !!!
