Steam Play via Proton doesn't work
Just figured I'd put this here so other Linux players know.

I'm running Gentoo Linux, kernel 4.18.3 with nvidia drivers 390.87 (the last version to support my GTX 550 Ti). If the dev needs more info please let me know and I'll provide what I can.

Steam Play require Vulcan to work, but your GPU didn't support it

Other games (like Poker Night 2, Spelunky, Valdis Story: Abyssal City) work under Steam Play, so Vulkan isn't necessarily required unless Waves is using something that requires it. Last I checked, Unreal doesn't require Vulkan for acceleration.

Steam Play is a emulator which uses Proton engine which uses Vulcan to emulate Dx12,11,10.
it can be that dx9 doesn't need vulcan to emulate.
unles i'm wrong

dxvk which Proton uses, implements D3D11 and D3D10 with Vulkan, not 12 or 9 and Waves uses 9.
In any case I can say that it doesn't work on my system either.

Oh and wine is not an emulator :^)

Proton 4.11 now emulates DX9 and as such Waves now works via Steamplay. I've tested it myself on Ubuntu 18.04 with latest nvidia drivers.
