I was one of the testers for The Powdermaster DLC, and I screwed up my first run badly without even beating the first street. I think it is one the hardest way to play Banners of Ruin if you pick Powdermaster for your initial playthrough. After I had couple of runs with my bear team I performed a full playthrough with the Powdermaster and even been able to beat the final boss. I think many players who put everything to Stamina at the start make a big mistake, because multiple Withdraw cards (you'll need to boost Spirit for these instead of Stamina) paired with Impervious perk(?) make a huge difference for the solo run early on. Unholy can also help a lot, especially during one tricky event that might butcher any character without the Unholy.
So yes, Powdermaster is a Hard Mod at the beginning, but brings a lot of joy later on.
I played solo Powdermaster and I tried to keep my deck as much thin as possible so that I always have Withdraw skill card in my hand every turn. This helped a lot in the early stages because the enemy simply does not deal damage to you if you change your position.
My problem is still only Prince, my best result is killing all his guards but that was still not enough to kill the Prince (I had about 350 HP and a lot of armor btw) No idea what I'm doing wrong maybe just bad luck
Plus with wolf with passive skill if anyone discard a card will get attack 3x3 is a good combo
Same, Powdermaster and Wolf with ability to draw more cards and the Prince was defeated.
I also added a mouse as a third member to the team, but only because he had good armor. Turned out to be a good damage dealer.
Discarding a powder cards is a bad idea and not worth it most of the time. When you have a lot of opponents it's better and more efficiently to use all that dust on them and against one strong boss, he always has some kind of nasty surprise or punishment for your excessive damage (like a surprise boost armor)
