Senran Kagura has always been """""""c e n s o r e d""""""" in the sense that it covers things up with lens flare and steam clouds. This game is no different.

The answer to your question is both yes and no. Yes, the game does cover stuff up because that's what the series has always done, and no, it's not those dirty californians taking away your animu hentis.

The game isn't censored. Nobody told them to cover up - they were never fully naked on-screen. The anime episodes do not define the video games. The games don't have nipples rendered even. If you remove the smoke and shiny beams of light, they are Barbie dolls.
You want to talk about censorship? Xenoblade Chronicles X was censored because Nintendo didn't want a pre-teen girl in a skimpy dental floss swimsuit and removed it when the game was released in America. Nintendo also censored the NA release of the latest Fatal Frame game because there was a see-through unlockable costume in the Japanese version.THIS game has had NO content removed or modified. Modders don't need to "fix" the game's censorship because there is none to fix. Modders can chose to lewd the game up if for you if you really think you need this game to beat your meat.

This game is as censored as Skyrim, which is to say that Skyrim isn't even censored. Todd Howard didn't cover up any naughty bits because the nipples and downstairs didn't exist until modders added them.

The censoring that occurred with this specific game was related to the "touching" feature. At the time of my post (this one) only Sony has raised issue, so PC, Switch, and whoever else gets the game will NOT be affected.

Senran Never did full nudity. At most you'll get a light beam or props covering up certian areas, but never went full nudity. It's never been censored by anyone and never been self censored by the devs. That's how the game has always been.

Thats weird, plenty of japanese games that show it using patches for example.
Think of koikatsu for example.
