Game won't download/start

I went to get this game from the store page, as I haven't played it before. But when I go to click the "Play Game" button next to where it shows that it's Free to Play, I get the little Steam pop up that says it's getting ready to launch the game, then the popup just goes away. Nothing launches, nothing starts downloading. And this happens every time I try to play it. I don't have another computer I'm able to try it on, so I'm kinda just stuck... Help!

How do I get this game???

On the Steam page it just says PLAY GAME... but I haven't downloaded it yet and clicking that does nothing and the link in the pinned comment for tech support goes nowhere. I don't understand.

Okay, this seems to be a Steam problem because I can't get any F2P games to work.

What region are you playing from? If it isn't one of the ones (East US, Central US, West US, North EU, West EU, and AUS), Steam might be incorrectly showing you are able to download it when it isn't in that region yet.

If not, if the game is in your library, right click on it and go to properties>local files>verify integrity, or uninstall and reinstall it. If it isn't in your library that seems like a Steam issue I've personally experienced where you need to restart your PC. Some programs will launch into the background and never open up fully.

Can't even Install the Game?

I click on play, it says "updating ticket" then "Preparing to Launch.." Then Steam just blinks and nothing happens. It doesn't even install the game. What give?

This seems like a Steam issue as I'm able to install and uninstall it perfectly fine over and over again, but I'm going to look in to if it could be a SJG problem. As Posh Bum said though, this seems to be happening to all F2P games, so I'm not exactly sure.

I live on the east coast so that probably isn't it. South Eastern to be more exact. Gonna try restarting computer. Seems I need to install an update anyway.

Restarting fixed it. Seems there was a Steam update that wouldn't install otherwise. Never had to restart my computer to get a Steam update to happen. Very strange.
