start career level 17 not 1
Why is it in starting at level 17 in my career mode and not 1? It’s making it very hard to level up and get skill points

you will level up the attributes, (probably even more important that leveling skills early on) by training, a lot of training. I took some very good advice after a first failed attempt at a career where I was just getting worked in every match. I decided to start a new career, and do nothing but train for the first year, yes, the whole year. I took a few weeks here and there to rest of course, but that's all i did was train. Start pumping most of your attribute points into power, reflexes and speed. Yes, toss a few into the other ones to, but stamina won't even begin to factor in until you are playing at or above Pro level. This should work and give you the edge you need to win and get out of the low income level of futures and challenger matches rather quickly. Stay in Amateur until winning gets rather boring, then go straight to Pro, semi-pro won't be necessary, and your stint at Pro will be short lived as well. you will spend most of your time after that in Veteran and beyond...hopefully.

Skill points are bought with money, if you do what I suggested in the first year, you will win tournaments and have the money to start cranking up your skills. When you start doing that resist the urge to dump huge money into a big serve, you simply won't win matches with aces. I don't like glaring weaknesses so I built up my skills rather evenly, only ignoring the volley and drop volley for awhile, as I hate playing at the net. I also ignored training these skills for along time as well.

Thank you! Im just wondering if cos im starting at level 17, should i be getting 17 attribute points to spend or is level 17 just the default starting level. But they're some awesome tips man thanks, I just started a career on semi pro but I'll go into Pro instead :D

if you started in semi-pro then I would stay there for awhile until the matches get easy, while i hardly noticed any difference between Pro and Semi-pro, it will be a challenge for awhile, at least in later stages of tournaments. You can change your difficulty whenever you want, but for it to be a permanent change, as in one that won't revert back to the previous difficulty, you will need to change it when your not in a tournament, if you change it during a match/tournament, then the change will only stick until the match/tournament is over.
